Very nice seafood! Not as good as Rozafa at Tirana, as here the is very big and even though there are many waiters, they are unorganized. At Tirana branch they treated us with some bread and mayonnaise with tuna as starters but here they didn't bring us bread with the salad. Also, my sushi came 10 minutes after my husband finished with his shrimp pasta dish...! The food though was very good but the portions, etc was better in the other branch. In this branch they also have a 5% fee, even though the was not good... We had dinner in the only. The food was delicious as well as the service. It was kids friendly offering a wonderful kids corner. I really enjoyed the food amd the atmosphere and I will definitely visit again. We were only for restaurant(lunch), as part of our order, shrimp rissoto was with tiny shrimps! Overall 5/10 for the taste, the ambient was good, clean and is fine! A bit overrated! We were en route for Pogradec when we started seeing signs for Rozafa City. Neither of us had heard of the place before, but since restaurants had been thin on the ground during our trip we thought we'd give it a try. I'm very glad we did -- it was an excellent experience, if somewhat hard to understand. The City complex sits off the main drag on its own access road. You park beside the site's multiscreen cinema. Just over the way is a covered "market" that sells fish. Behind the cinema is a huge swimming pool and a hotel complex. Off to the side is an outdoor icecream parlour and a big sit-down restaurant. Some way behind these is what appears to be a processing plant (don't worry, it doesn't smell). The whole complex sits in a landscaped park with a row of gigantic statue heads along one side -- Karl Marx and two others, all of them several stories high. The park was nice: trees, flowers, grass. We bought some in the market. There was a huge variety on display -- think Venice, or Athens -- all of uniformly high quality. We then wandered over to the restaurant, which turned out to be a slick affair decorated in Edward Hopper/Bruce Weber chic. We were given menus in English and chose what turned out to be the best tuna steaks ever -- fresh, huge and perfectly prepared. Everyone we spoke to was polite and friendly, although our Albanian was very limited and they clearly didn't get much chance to practice their English. The limited English wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't been so curious. How many people work at City? How old is it? How did it come into existence? How do you get such excellent to an inland location? etc etc Since we couldn't get answers, we made up our own account, deciding that the City complex had been built as a showpiece and kept as a going concern after the Iron Curtain was lifted. Well, it turns out we were wrong, but the reality was even stranger. Apparently the complex was originally built as an armaments dump by Albania's former dictator, and was redeveloped a few years back by a benign tycoon who wants to promote the country's fisheries. Good luck to him. I can't praise his too highly. If you're travelling towards Pogradec you're going to go straight past the complex. Make that turn! Is ok for what they advertise as the green establishment they lack of washing the glasses by hand like in 90s paper receipts everywhere a person to collect the money from the Waitresses 2 small toilets at that big the owner advertise his Elon musk invention bought the cyber truck from him but dose not have a electric charger for his customers so lots of words no action I aspect it more and now is gone find excuses to reply on this as is easier then improving! I have no words for the amazing and the amazing food. Never second guessing where I would eat when passing in Elbasan. Let alone that the food is amazing, but the staff is always so polite and hardworking that they make you want to return again. The was incredibly and flavorful, easily some of the best I’ve ever had. We spend over €200 for waiters that didn’t even bother to come and ask for more food or drinks. We got our soup, salad, appetizer and main course all at once. No one even bother to pick up our salad plates when the main course came. No one came to ask if we need more water or drinks. Our players stayed empty at are table for 20 min before we got someone’s attention. I absolutely loved this place. It looks extremely nice and has a ton of place. The location is nice too. I loved the statues that were outside. There are rooms but I didn't see how they were,it was a one time thing. My first time on a and I loved it. The staff is nice and kind. We arrived to the by a suggestion of a local taxi driver from Tiran. The place looked wonderful. The hostes welcomed us immediately and showed us to our table. We sat there for about 10min, my wife was really thirsty so she ran inside to get a beer and water. After that we sat for 10 more min, then finally a waiter came around and we asked to give us a menu, but wait, he gave just one. We needed 5 more min to get another menu. In a few minutes we finally got to make our order. Foccacia and caprese salad, a classic, nothing to boast about, tuna tataki, man o man, that was excellent, for the main, grilled sefood mix...don't it, complete garbage, the portion was tiny for the price and the quality - total disappointment. Not to mention the staff, if not for tuna tataki, i would call google to make an option to add a minus star option, because Rozafa city restaurant, was really the worst in Albania. Really you can choose any local cafe or nearby, if the food quality will not be as great, atleast the staff will show a one teeth smile or more. Conclusion, Rozafa staff must not work as waiters, don't care if they had a late shift or anything else, clients must be waited with a smile and equaly, talking as a waiter from experience! Through the years we are regularly visiting Rozafa for lunch or dinner, when we are passing through Elbasan. Every time it is a bigger disappointment!!! When the opened it was a fantasy, - fast and smiling waiters, prices and what you get for the price-perfect. The plates were full. As a welcome there was free water and as a starter some shrimp in white sauce and bread. Then you ordered as you wish. Food delicious! BUT... NOW... Now... every next time, it's a worse experience. The bill is higher the plate is minimalistic. Grumpy, lost waiters, for a welcome. The last time we were, yesterday, while waiting for a table for three, they told us to sit down and wait. They gave us bigger table for 6 people, and first they told us not to because some people would soon get up, so we can take a smaller table for 3 people. Then after 15 minutes another waiter came with the menu and told us to order. The waiter did not knew English maybe basic, replied in Albanian and laughed mockingly even though he did not understand the order, he shouted in English yes, yes. We waited for the for more than 20 minutes. And, we didn't even get the second beer we ordered, even though three waiters came by and said - it will be right away.... and after 35 minutes of waiting!!! we didn't see any water or beer. The sushi was really nice, but we had half a portion left, so we asked them to pack it for us. When we opened it at home, it was without soy sauce, without wasabi... The octopus was overpriced and tough, if you can call it octopus - we got two thin tentacles. Finally, after a lot of waiting and since we didn't get a beer, and my son wanted to а dessert - he couldn't because they were just passing next to us, we decided to ask for the bill. For which we waited 2-3 minutes and in which a 5% tip was calculated. Absolutely undeserved! A disaster of from the waiters!!! Came here for a dinner of two and the was horrible. Waited for too long and the main dishes came before starters and they brought us again the same dish minutes later. The food was not tasty - they did serve quantity over quality. I ordered tagliatele and it came chopped and all of the dish was a mix of tomatoes and pastas. The location is very nice but its a shame they have this poor managment. It is the second time the same incidents happen while visiting them. The was incredibly fresh, beautifully cooked, and full of flavor. Every dish was presented with care and tasted amazing.
