Stopped here for lunch while up in the Helmsley area. It's a typical combination of tea room, restaurant, and you can find all over. So first to the tea room, we got a very lunch here, nice sandwiches, sides, and coffee all at a reasonable price. Service was quick as well. There seems to be three main areas, the main restaurant, a more casual dog friendly inside area, and of course outside so most options are covered. Being august is was very busy but there still was seat available in all areas. Overall a very experience. Next the and this was a slight letdown. It was very nicely laid out and decorated but the content was variable, some areas like the butchery were very good, as was the prepackaged biscuits, pickles and preserves. Other areas, such as fresh eggs, vegetables, and bakery were lacking in selection compared to other shops we've visited. Overall a experience, a great food experience, but the range of items in the needs to be grown. Nice but the service was shocking. Ordered 2 breakfasts and they gave it to someone else. They have no system of working out who is sat where. That said food was nice but will not be returning A lovely well stocked shop. Locally sourced meat and veg plus a lovely tea room. Excellent butcher with great quality own beef, local lamb and pork. price to and great staff. Also located in side is a homeward boutique and outside a hairdresser. We stopped on the campsite and was so handy for shopping for tea. The campsite is flat and right next door over looking the fields. facilities and very reasonably priced. Plenty of small quiet road and tracks to explore and Helmsley is not far away. Brilliant place to take the kids and go for a coffee now there's a play in the back corner. We've always loved this place but have to say we were very disappointed by the cook breakfast. Burnt toast and the Farmers Breakfast had two sausages that were chipolata size if I'm being generous and cocktail sausage size if I'm not. It was a shame given the sausages on the butchers counter were bigger and looked lovely. Plenty of parking. And where to start? The meat and deli counters had quality produce. Lovely breads and other fresh vegetables to choose from. If you are on holiday and self catering there is a fantastic selection of fresh and frozen ready meals . Chutneys, jams etc. And a gorgeous gift shop, so much choice. When you have finished shopping then the cafe is there for a coffee or light lunch. Great place to spend a couple of hours. A great little Shop, not a cheap place but similar prices to other places close by. Amazing little play for kids to get some energy out whilst parents are having a drink. Great choice for kids meals, unfortunately not much options for drinks however the lady that served me suggested about cups of plain milk which went down a treat with the kids. Bonus that it opens at 9:30. Plenty of parking, the had lots of choice too! Worth a visit if you're in the area. is if a little expensive ( like most shops ) had the farmers breakfast while we were there but it was poor... The sausages that came with it were the thiner than any I've seen on a brekkie..( I assume they were made in house for the kitchen as they didn't sell them in their butchery ) . Between the 4 of us there were 8 eggs and not a soft yolk between them .. I would visit again( it's a nice place ) but not for breakfast... We have been her numerous times and each time it has been fantastic. Brilliant food, delicious coffee and cakes. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. There is a great play for the children and tables close to the to keep an eye on them.
