Friendly welcome from staff started off well and guides in rooms very interesting. The dolls and whole room of different miniature rooms was my favourite- could have stayed all day! Small tea room with produce especially cakes! They have a scone of the week too. We did the 5 mile walk starting and ending at hall which was enjoyable and thankfully missed the rain. £13.20 entry for and Went with friends to and they loved it. There is a area to explore with fallen fruit that you are allowed to have. The has a gem of features to look at with it's history at hand to read. There is also a inside the house. Nunnington is a proper gem in the NT portfolio, small enough to explore in detail with such a variety of aspects. This year, they're hosting the wildlife photography entrants on top of having the in-house miniature (dolls) houses. New additions to the gardens, and you can't miss the resident peacocks! The thing I really do enjoy when visiting NT properties is the knowledge and enthusiasm of the volunteers, this place has them by the bucket load 👏👏 A beautiful hall set within the North Yorkshire countryside. The houses has a varied history and has been preserved very well by the National Trust. A gallery on the top floor and the Carlisle exhibition is a must of mini furniture that is exact in detail. The place feels like a home rather than a museum which is testimony to the staff and Trust. Excellent knowledgeable and friendly guides and information boards. We even joined at the site for the year. There is a very on site which does excellent meals. Recommend membership and support preserving our historic houses. Possibly the warmest welcome we have ever had at any NT building on arrival from the lovely Ken. Such a beautiful well preserved in North Yorkshire with pretty and games such as badminton and croguet on the lawns which were an added bonus and fun. A very peaceful and relaxing setting with peacocks roaming the grounds. had a very miniature display when we visited. Lovely with outdoor seating right by the river which was so relaxing we didn't want to move. Absolutely loved our to Nunnington Hall and hope to again one day as possibly one of the best NT properties we have since having our memberships. NT property. It's quite small but the are - for roses & fruits this time of year. The is very open & you can walk everywhere - no roped off areas. You can spend a couple of hours here quite happily, probably longer on a warm, sunny day. We walked into Nunnington village afterwards too which is full of beautiful buildings & walks. Nunnington Hall I spent an enjoyable couple of hours here. The features a range of flower beds, a wild meadow, an orchard and a kitchen garden. Whilst the outside was attractive to wander around the grounds are not as large as some other places I’ve recently. There are plenty of places to sit and soak up the tranquillity of the or have a picnic. For anyone visiting with family there is lawn tennis, skittles, jenga, croquet, and a playground. The was with information boards and knowledgeable volunteers. There is currently a wildlife photography exhibition that contained some very impressive pictures. The does a lovely vegan scone with jam & cream. However it is expensive - a flat white and the scone came to over £8. There was plenty of parking when I arrived at 11am on a Thursday and there was still spaces available when I left at 1pm. A must if you're in the area. The is a gorgeous pocket of history, with to match. Rose beds with some amazing smelling roses. Veg with allsorts growing in it. And a wonderfully redone iris as it was called I think last time we visited. We had a lovely day here. The children enjoyed the outdoor games. Lots of rooms inside that were open to the public. Bit of a queue to get into the tearooms which was a shame as the food quality very good(but had to suffer very fidgety children waiting). as our day out in Leeds was cancelled last minute. Had vouchers from local paper and so was free but put value of trip in donations as the day was great. Party of 2 adults, 2 oaps and child. Wow. The day was a joy from start to finish. Everyone had a smile on there face with the activities, lovely walks around the gardens, especially as little legs don't go too far. Had coffees first, great setting next to the water. Walked the and explored the play area, fruit trees/plantations. Then back for dinner. Try the stew! Also the sandwiches are more like door stops, even our fiddlyist eater had something to enjoy. Back to the games around the gardens. Then up into the house. Not everyone's cup of tea however the final floor for the little one was great and story time enjoyed by full party and the colouring in. Little one was entertained all day, start to finish so must have been 5hours. This was such an excellent visit, from the and its riverside location, to its delightful gardens, to the wonderful exhibition of local art on the top floor. The addition of deckchairs around the was a particularly touch, as was the peacock in the tea gardens. here recently as an adult for the first time. often as a child and had fond memories, particularly of the peacocks, the ghost in the bedroom, and the dolls exhibition. Loved it even more as an adult. So much history in one and loved paying attention to the finer details as an adult. Happy to see the peacocks are still there, the hog roast roll was delicious as was the lemon cake and had a great time. Great NT place to visit. Grounds are not extensive, but there is plenty to see. The tea rooms are excellent and staff very friendly - we had a delicious lunch and then after exploring the & we returned for coffee & cake. Small climbing frame for younger children only, but our kids had fun with the archery sets. Would like to see the again in the summer. The national trust guides on the entrance were so welcoming. I am a wheelchair user . The are stunning, view from the lawns to the house, a wonderful by a river, tables & chairs , wooden sunloungers in the which we opted for . The food, cakes , service excellent , being August , summer holidays the was busy . An array of fun games / activities were around the lawns for families to enjoy also making a day of their outing with picnics . The sadly being a national trust member is not at all disabled friendly . The toilets were compact & difficult for disabled. A downside to a glorious experience . If you are a wheelchair user the grounds / are very accessible, you would need however a fine weather day . The beauty of Nunnington Hall a happy memory with photos that will stay will me . We on a damp, foggy, drizzly day but Nunnington Hall did not disappoint. It was beautifully decked out for Autumn in almost every room, on window ledges, in fire places and more. We were able to almost every room in the which although not lived in felt very homely. The art exhibition on the top floor is extensive and the separate Carlisle Collection, ‘miniature rooms’ exhibition, is absolutely exquisite. The table service in the tea room is fast and efficient.
