It's my spiritual home. A place where I can face my mind without judgment or worry. A place of work, place of practice, place of finding my Self. If you're serious about yoga, that's the place to be. The food is delicious, and it's placed on the top of the mountain. It's breathtaking. You really need to experience it. In this sacred space I free my mind From its prison Breaking through The walls of conditioning In this sacred space The wind whispers in my ears When I swing under the wise Oak - SO – Swaying forward - HAM – Moving back In this sacred space I re-discover oneness Within In this sacred space From the darkness To light “I” dissolve In this sacred space I come home Once more I absolutely love this place. I have been a student of for over 25 years and travelled to India on numerous occasions. This is a genuine ashram which delivers wonderful courses of a high quality for both beginners as well as more experienced practitioners. Comfortable accommodation, wonderful vegetarian food and really friendly staff and teachers. All in stunningly scenery. Recommend 100% retreat center, not a place that supports genuine Yogic insight and development. If you want a place to relax, breathe, and enjoy time outside of the city, Mandala Ashram is a wonderful experience. If you are seeking a community and structure that supports a Yogic way of being, this is not the place for you. I stayed as a general ashram resident for 2 weeks alongside my brother who stayed for 3 weeks. There is little practice of aside from four and a half hours of Karma each day, which in itself has no spiritual weight within the culture of the community - it feels to be simply another word for “work”. Mandala Ashram is a wonderful place to experience. The people are vibrant, the location is serene and beautiful, and the days are calm. I share this review so that if you are like me and have the expectation that you will find friends and fellow seekers looking to create a community where the Unifying principles of are Lovingly and passionately practiced, you will likely be similarly disappointed by your own expectations. May you Be with great Love. I've just spent a week as a guest at this Ashram, and would recommend it very highly to anyone looking for an authentic Ashram experience. It is a very good humoured place and will help you not only to get in touch with yourself but also your fellow human beings. And there is, thankfully, no pressure to sign up or belong to any belief system, although obviously they are presenting techniques from the culture of Yoga. For authentic, thoughtful in a place together with a nurturing experience I would recommend Mandala Ashram. It felt like the place I had always been looking for. Even better they offer regular online experiences so I can practice my directly at home. I visited for the first time last weekend for the 'Celebration of Being' course and I liked it so much I've already booked another course. I found the staff and residents to be welcoming and friendly. The general atmosphere of the ashram was quite down-to-earth which made it a safe and supportive to go deeper with my and meditation practice, supported by experienced teachers and an absolutely stunning location next to the Beacons. They also have a good collection of books in the library, quality vegetarian/vegan food, and a light spacious hall where most of the meditation and practices take place. It's a great place to connect with an authentic practice. Very knowledgeable, experienced, kind, well humoured and approachable staff. The most and inspiring vegetarian food too! Gorgeous views of the rolling hills and a magical garden to explore. Very welcoming and homely accommodation and communal areas. Absolutely loved my short stay there for a course. Lovely to meet other course goers, guests and residents. Thanks all at the Ashram for all you do. Was incredibly refreshing to be part of Ashram life for a few days. Have taken so much home with me. Very much hope to be able to go back soon! I always find the Ashram a wonderful and calm place to stay - I go there every 2 or 3 years. The residents are friendly and welcoming and the location in the Welsh mountains is beautiful. The daily schedule that you follow, the shared living space, and the opportunity for a 'digital detox', take you out of your usual routine and way of living, and allows time for self-reflection and self-discovery. The Ashram is a rare gem. Mandala Ashram is a truly authentic centre and a very special place. I have been visiting now for many years...personally it is where my heart always feels "at home", and perhaps the only place on earth for me where life truly "makes sense"!!! Although some things have changed over the years, the heart and teachings of the Ashram remain unchanged...it is unique and very powerful.... A place where one feels safe on every level, and transformation is definitely made possible.
