Cracking in a little town, with a good bit of heritage behind it. Not a great deal left of the but interesting all the same and does give a nice view of the and surrounding area. The steel statue next to it is dramatic and beautifully detailed. Great little A small ruined over looking the town. Located at the edge of the pay and display car park, it’s easy to get to. A short climb to the top gives very good views of the surrounding area. The is free and the short climb is worth it to see the view and also look at the wonderful metal sculpture of Llywelyn ap Gruffydd defender of the and horrifically killed. See the board at the bottom of the hill for further information. Lovely for a quick visit Llandovery is purely a ruin, but walk up to the remaining parts and just imagine the scale of the in its glory. The walls are over 6ft wide. Llandovery village is worth a quick walk round. Great bakery with epic cakes and puddings, pub, hotel, gift shops. Car is 90p for a hour. Toilets available (40p a go) but does accept card payments. Small ruin, but it is worth seeing if you love your historical places and love castles. Once a strong but now only ruins Car directly below Easily accessible Large statue of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd Fychan No factual information provided Only lickle, but I like castles and the statue of Llewlyn ap Gruffydd is cool Good place to stop and wander. We had to up to use the Public Conveniences ( clean & tidy ) but will take a longer visit when next in the area. Great ruin with lots of history. Very large car (pay and display) and toilets right next to the and many information boards around telling you about the history of the and the itself. Great pubs and shops nearby too. Very well kept area and flooded with flowers in the summer including hanging baskets from the walls by the info boards. The perfect place to have as a stop off on your travels to add to the trip and/or to take a break. Short steep ramp to get up and some steps on the last part. Wonderful place to visit. There is plenty to see in Llandovery and nice walks. Enjoyed our day there Not a huge amount left, but worth a stop off on the way through Wales Lovely little ruined castle. Ideal to have a little wander after dinner and a play on the with our little boy. Just ruins without any touristy approach. Parking directly in front of it. You have to climb stairs to get up. Outdoor seating close by. Free to visit. Fantastic visit to the Castle. The staff in the shop was so chatty and friendly, the was well preserved and had lots of places and nooks to explore. A great day out.
