First time ever in this pub. A traditional pub with a lot of character. Bar staff, polite and efficient. A very choice of ales. Did not eat, but the prices for the dishes are very reasonable. Loads of history to read from the memorabilia on the walls. Well worth the visit. little ale boozer with very friendly and fun staff and a super of their own brewed and guest ales. I'm marking food mid simply because it's a small of toasties, and whilst they're fine, it's not a overall. The pub is very dog friendly. Still the best pub in the North East. Nice local pub with community feel. or craft and traditional on tap including they brew them selves. Quality of own brewery is very good. Price is amazing at about 50% of durham pub prices. If I lived closer I'd be there every day! Excellent little traditional pub, of ale including their own brews, and the staff are fantastic too. A must visit if you’re in the area. little pub. (I know the photo isn't a local but they do have a haha) First time in this cracking little Consett pub. selection, and taproom for Consett Ale Works. Three of their own on cask, but a variety of other also, on both cask and keg - around half local, half from further afield. Service good, cozy bar, and larger lounge to the right. Nice outdoor terrace out the front, to see garden furniture from Marmax Ltd. - made from recycled plastic bottles😃 Plus, some old pics of industrial Consett throughout. A bit out of the way, but well worth a visit. The bus from Toon/Gateshead drops you off just across the road. Recommended. I haven't rated the food because this is a traditional pub that doesn't do meals. However, the toasties are class. They also have food vans every Thursday night, which are fab. The pub itself is absolutely first class. They brew their own 🍺, I'm a fussy drinker, but I love the steel town ale. They brew several different award winning ales. The atmosphere is great, the bar staff are super friendly and to top it all off they are dog friendly. Love the place 🙌 A proper community independent pub! Brilliant atmosphere. Wide variety of - some made in their own micro brewery. Certainly a unique pub that is getting harder and harder to discover. Sandra is the best pubs in Consett guaranteed to enjoy your pint more than anywhere on consett also street food on Thursdays is wonderful This is a gem of a pub, of ale alongside the lagers and ciders. Proper old style pub grub, ie toasties available and have a different visiting street food van every Thursday. Four stars for food as its not a sit down meal pub (not a bad thing) but what it offers is done well. Lovely little ale pub in the town of Consett. Was very lively for a Saturday evening, but there was still plenty of room to feel comfortable. We had two pints of their own brew, and the round came to £6.00! Bargain, as well as enjoyable. Since I moved up to Consett in 2001 I’ve loved this bar .. it lost its way mid 2000’s .. but under Sanda & Dave it’s been amazing .. / ciders and toasties .. a gem of a pub Brilliant friendly pub with superb ale. Highly recommended A place you can walk in and feel at home, the locals love to chart and the is constantly trustworthy. Lots of guest changing frequently with lots of the staples we rely on. I LOVE this pub, rare I can say that but it just oozes that community and be yourself vibe.
