Great day out What an area! Every view is amazing. Visited several times and never fails to impress and amaze. Water levels in the reservoirs and rivers were very low due to a dry summer but still beautiful. Lovely walks and spectacularscenery, various footpaths to follow. MTB heaven and they do good coffee at Visitors centre and Penbont tea rooms. Oh, a complete jewel of a place, stunning scenery, lovely walks a must for everyone the dams and reservoirs are awesome. Pieceful and not to many people around. Public toilets open at the top reservoir. Just leave it has you find it. Visitors centre shut, there is a portable coffee shop with ice cream. These are all taken in an area of special scientific interest, just above Penbont and bellow th dam. There are some lovely walks through this particular site where work is being carried out by Tir Coed, a local charity, I think. They were behind the construction of two sturdy boardwalks, constructed on site using timber sourced on site, through part of their ongoing 'sustainable woodland management' project they organise. Absolutely stunning beautiful area perfect for bike riding spent 8 days here every day different so much to see vert varied definitely recommended Its a fab place sadly overwhelmed by tourists now. Lovely little village to walk around. Stunning scenery. There is plenty of space to sit and have food, picnic. Dogs really need to be kept on a lead in this area as free roaming sheep and lambs. Lots of space for children to run around, but vehicles do come and go, so it is best to stay on the grass area.
