It's nice to find a good old proper pub with good pub grub! The food was excellent ,hot, and plenty of it, and we didn't wait long. The barman was very friendly, a lovely chap nice to chat to and it was nice to see a some locals having a good natter. We would recommend this pub Stopped here whilst passing through for some lunch. Lovely little pub, very warm and welcome. Lots of choice on the menu, me and my partner both had the basket meal which was huge, amazingly priced and delicious. Would recommend Fantastic local pub. As well as a generous selection of beers including a well kept Butty Bach there is freshly cooked food including hand cut, beautifully cooked chips and beer battered cod. Dog and with sufficient parking I would highly recommend this pub if you are in the area. Charming, very welcoming traditional pub. Varied menu (though some things weren't available - no biggie, we were told upfront). The food was all home-cooked and delicious. It was a quiet Friday afternoon when we popped in but I imagine when it's full of locals it can be quite the laugh. Outstanding! Very friendly, excellent food! We called up with a group of 14 for the same day, they told us "we don't turn anyone away". Sure enough, they fitted us in. Landlady and bar staff were very and chatty, and the food was amazing. Unusually large selection for vegetarians. Pies are home made by local butcher, highly recommended. Lovely "local" atmosphere, but very welcoming to a large group of tourists. Parking is somewhat limited, with 10-12 spaces round the back, but we had no problem fitting our 4 cars in on a weekday evening. 10/10 we will definitely return next time we're in the area. A busy Saturday night and 6 of us enjoyed a splendid meal. The lamb chops are fantastic- the best I have ever tasted. staff and a great atmosphere. Very recommended. Visited here while staying in the area. The landlord was the most funny person ever he made us feel so welcome, spent our whole time there laughing. Staff were so and happy nothing was too much bother. Food was home made and chips were out of this world. First impressions for us this pub is a hidden gem it’s small but it’s lovely inside and the food and staff were 10/10 for us, would defiantly return based on this alone. Very good food from a very family. Visited twice and it didn't disappoint, curry was gorgeous as was the lasagne and 2 basket meals, we had sausage and chicken meals. Our dog enjoyed her sausages also. Every portion is very filling and tasty. The drinks were reasonably priced and really good. Overall this pub goes above and beyond to please the customers. 10 out of 10.
