Came out for a random glass of wine with my daughter this evening. Sat in garden which was just beautiful. Had a lovely burger and chips. Service was lovely as was Andy the new owner. Really nice chap. Lovely location. Stopped for lunch and really enjoyed the food and well kept beers. The barman and waiting staff were excellent. Highly recommended. Quirky but lovely. Good price per night. Lots of hot water and fresh towels. Comfy beds. Location, ambient and atmosphere are what Makes it special. You have a magical historic sight next door. Very old church with tons of stories and history - amazing frescoes and a parish priest list dating back to 1200s. Nature and farmland all around 🍀 Great high-end traditional pub. Food was honestly unbelievable at a great price point. Service was quick and great. Can’t wait to stay in one of their rooms ! We had a wonderful experience here over Easter 2025 just after the new manager/owner (who was delightful) had taken over. The food, atmosphere and service were exceptional. So worth the drive through the dark lanes on a wet night. We’ll be back every time we are down. Thank you! Absolute phenomenal lunch. Could not think of a single fault, the food was a triumph and the atmosphere was beautiful. My wife and I randomly passed, my stomach took over and decided to eat. Welcomed with smiles and warmth we took a table next to the bar. Great selection of draught (and soft drinks for the unfortunate 😁). My wife had the Cod lunch special and I ordered the Ox Cheek Pie. I've never been a massive Fish and Chip man, but I savoured listening to the crunch in every mouthful 😉 The Pie was really something else. You could tell that hours had gone in to preparing the meat Regardless to say nothing was left.
