Feel I've just been scammed. Collected a meal close to closing time .Opened and box to find no chips. Went back immediately. Closed and after knocking on door surprise surprise no left. This place is a grey plastic house in a concrete yard by a road. Staff as gloomy as the is limp. The food also tastes like overused oil. Sorry to be a downer but and is a national dish and done well it's a joyful art, done badly it needs to be called out. Nice people good quality and fresh food cooked whilst we were waiting Delicious fresh fish. Food class AAA+, service fast, staff very kind, portion of food huge, very good price. Recommend to visit if u love fish. We will be back to dine in the outside garden if weather permits if not plenty space indoor and clean. were quite rubbery. Awful Very tasty, great cod, crispy batter, mushy peas are top notch. Nice flavour in the chips. Not greasy. Calamari well worth getting, very crispy batter. Mini perfect for a child. Overall I can't fault it! Leave plenty of time if you're in a rush as you might find a queue. Came back this year and they're still nailing it! Keep up the good work! Slow service as they are cooking order at the till , not allowed to shout order at the door so they can get it going 🤷🏻‍♂️ Restaurant looks odd with all the chairs on the tables , not sure if people are allowed to sit down but doesn’t look very welcoming. Would order a takeaway again. The best and on the island Paid well over the odds for rubbish service and small average food. We placed the order and was told to wait outside. 30 mins later I went back in to find they forgot to do the order. The was small and the price was extortionate. Came here a few years ago and had a decent and chip supper. Returned with 2 friends this week and was very disappointed with the cod and haddock which was extremely thin and very dry, as if it had been overcooked or just been kept warm for way too long. On the positive side the were good. Too many for such little fish. We ate as a family of 4 and had a fabulous meal, piping hot and clearly cooked fresh. My daughters said the best battered sausage they’ve ever had. My and mushy peas were delicious my only gripe would be the bread and butter was margarine and not butter 🤣. The staff were very attentive and checked on us a couple of times, which was very reassuring. If your in the area I definitely recommend a visit, you won’t be disappointed!
