There are obviously many castles in Wales but this one is impressive on so many levels. The is stunning and the views are incredible. Inside there is so much to see and outside there are the walled gardens with ponds and lovely flowers. This place is run by the national trust and managed to get some free passes at the time which was handy. Another highly recommended place to visit when in North Wales. Absolutely stunning! The views and are out of this world. The inside of the has stunning architectural detail and original furnishings. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Well worth a day out. There is a cafe and toilets on site, and a handy buggy ride from the entrance to the front door. Highly recommended. Loved the place! The is beautiful in and out and has a very interesting history. We took a tour and enjoyed it very much! Very informative and interesting with great fun facts that you won’t find on the boards. Really nice architecture too. Lovely set in beautiful scenery with a view over the sea and the mountains. Beautiful gardens to explore and relax in, with ample picnic table spaces. The is definitely worth a visit, with extensive period furniture on display and explanations about interesting details of life in the castle. The kids loved the little train museum in the cafe courtyard, and the chance to climb onto an actual steam train. Loved our visit, will definitely come again! Stunning location and imposingly built beautifully presented as always by the National Trust. Stonework internally is exquisite. An incredibly unique property with an interesting history (if not troubling)! There’s a fine cafe which we’ve visited on other occasions. Staff (many of whom are volunteers) were very interesting and kind people, as ever. If you don’t have a membership to NT, it’s well worth it, a national treasure no less Also nearby are two other stunning National Trust properties, Bodnant Gardens and Plas Newyd. Fantastic! Worth every penny. We missed the slate cutting twice because they close the doors and don't allow entry... so be sure to arrive a few minutes early for demos. If you can, do the wooded hike up to the castle. The trees, boardwalk and bird watching hut are amazing! Very impressed with Penrhyn and the very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Meg in the visitor centre was particularly helpful. When l.explained l didnt have a blue badge but was recovering from hip surgery she allowed us to use the car park nearest the entrance to the castle. The was well worth the entrance fee and the aching hip. We'll visit again next year when l can enjoy the grounds and walled garden. Incredible experience. Our 3, 5 and 7 year old kids loved it. Couldn't believe the size of the castle. The open areas inside the were fascinating to explore and beautifully decorated. The games on the gardens around the were a lovely bonus for the kids.
