The Gladstone

Bangor, United Kingdom Pub

One of the Best Places To Visits in Dwygyfylchi Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Totally indifferent service. There is a waitress who doesn't take orders. One has to go inside. When inside, I was told food would be ready soon. Despite showing interest in ordering food, nothing offered, and no-one to ask, so I just left. Typical pub establishment who will complain about poor revenues, but have only themselves to blame.... Went for a few drinks and to see if we could book a table for same day. Girl at bar was very accommodating in getting a table. Good selection of drinks. The food we ordered as it was Friday was 2 specials fish and chips and scampi and chips with a side order of onion rings. The food was fantastic, tasty fish and old school chips and the onion rings were great. Overall service and food brilliant. Will return Lovely little find when my partner and I were looking for somewhere to have drinks and some food after a long day hiking before heading back to our nearby campsite. Staff and locals were so friendly and watched the sun set over the sea from the pub garden. We were too late for food as they were fully booked but they were so accommodating and offered menus for the local takeaways to order to the pub. Would definitely pop in again if we were in the area. A friendly and very warm welcome awaited you at this popular and very dog friendly Pub/Hotel. Gavin, the host, was superb and couldn't do enough for us and our three furry companions. We stayed here for three nights over an extended weekend and had a great time. Food at the hotel was great and very nicely presented, and the welsh breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend 👌 Ian and Serena, well done, guys. We will definitely come and visit again It might be a wonderful place to stay but on a weds evening at 7.50 with no more than 20 people in the entire pub I walk in with my wife and 2 children and ask for a table for 4 only to be told their not doing walk ins so sorry goodbye. We were told about the Gladstone as being visitor friendly well not in our case. I would highly recommend going down to Conwy Marina for a very welcoming pub wonderful food and fantastic staff. Seemingly very pretty and welcoming appearance but unfortunately this was a huge disappointment! The waitresses were an efficient kind of friendly and drinks were brought quickly. The table was extremely sticky, I don’t know why but it definitely hadn’t been wiped even though it was clear and I caught my finger very painfully on the loose seat when pulling my chair in. Not a good start but the biggest disappointment was the fish and chips. Both had most definitely been cooked numerous times so there was very little fish left in the batter and most of the chips were just really burned crisps! My husband ordered pasta which he said was ok. I don’t like to complain for fear of repercussions and we were camping and had little knowledge of the area so I had to just soak up the extortionate prices and almost inedible food but I wouldn’t recommend or ever return to this pub!!
