Went there for the open swim, £10 per child is decent value for a swim in a cool setting. It was a mild July evening, 20° air temperature and 20° temperature, and nobody said the was cold. Considering all the other comments with high charges, I believe cost is per car though all day. However, due to limited spaces this appears to be the rationale to reduce the being flooded with visitors. A workaround could be to have outer car parks before the entrance to the lake. 4 stars as there is room for improvement there. Went Walking round the lake, lots of wildlife to see then had a coffee and cake from the coffee hut and very reasonably priced . Peacefull around the of Buckland, can do paddleboarding there, benches dotted around the to rest inbetween walks, also a woodland track. Swans, morehens & geese reside in the park, ample & a lovely restaurant. lake, great around it (bring water), quite good quality food truck next to it (got the halloumi burger). Be advised, lack of decent shade around the and the paddling pool will be filthy muddy in seconds, I wouldn't even think to let my kid get anywhere near that breeding ground (quite literally, as we could see insects swimming in a toy bucket we filled with water). My friend and I went there for a Standing Up Paddling course- the company hosts courses in the therefore had a ‘free’ entry to the park. It was easy to get to by bus from Dorking station therefore car isn’t necessary. The itself wasn’t huge but the was beautiful. There are huts around the route of the for you to rest and have picnics. Chicken Wrap with Sun dried Tomato, Halloumi. I had an Orange juice and a Chocolate Brownie with Salted Caramel sauce. I give the place 10/10. It's a highly recommended place. The only downside is it's £7 for the entrance fee. If you have a disabled carer then you can get in for £5 go , thou you need to pay 8 pounds to get inside which is actually not worth it I kept my phone in the car otherwise I would have taken photos! For 20 years I've been driving down the main road and never have I noticed the entrance to the until today and decided to visit. Absolute gem in the area! It has all the facilities needed for a great day out from the burger van with hot drinks, playground, picnic area, sports equipment through to the shower and toilets. There is a fee to pay for entry but not that significant and for what you can experience here it's a fair price to pay. I am very happy that we found another fabulous place to come with a family. Booked and paid for tickets however there was no body to check in on arrival. enough around the lakes but feels a bit confined as I normally go for longer hikes. Would be ideal for younger families or more senior, less able walkers. It's a surrounded by trees. Not many flowering plants or shrubs. It's clean and tidy. There are payable activities like paddleboard but £7 entrance fee per adult is a bit on the high side. Great place for a on a sunny day To their defense, they do make it clear that swimming must be booked with a different company. But I was in a rush and fully missed that. I figured that £18.50 must include access to swimming, but nope. Instead it was an incredibly expensive picnic spot. I was dressed for swimming, not walking, so I couldn't enjoy the full park. I also could only pay for 2 adults 2 children, not 2 adults separately. I'm not sure what you're paying for. The grounds are perfectly fine, but nothing out of the ordinary from the numerous free parks around. The guy running the shaq said we weren't the only ones who misunderstood. So if it happens to you, don't feel bad! Overall I wouldn't recommend this spot. The place itself is absolutely beautiful. The First Gentleman at the gate was lovely, however the older lady down at the was just rude. We were told we would be able to swim by the First Gentleman. When we got to the car we spoke with the woman where she spoke to my partner and I like we were imbeciles, extremely patronising telling us we can’t swim and if we do she will have to kick us out. If she had spoken to us with respect as paying customers then maybe this review would have been different. Very disappointed with how we have been treated and having to pay to around the seems ridiculous. We left. One of the worst places that I ever been to. 2 adults £14, one 5 years old kid, they didn't charged. Nothing to do there, 1 slide for kids 1 swing and a sand box, we can't use the "beach" so we paid £14 just to around the forest and lie on the grass, as far as I know this is free at any around the UK. Play is for younger kids and a little small, but my daughter enjoyed the sand a paddling pool area. (There were fish in the paddling pool bit) we packed a lunch but grabbed another bottle of and ice cream each (another £9) then headed to the woodland walk...shorter but set in the woodland and a welcome restbite from the sun. We're cycled there so total cost of day £18 for one adult and one child... Great, day out. Today myself and another family member tried out the new Alpaca experience at Buckland and we absolutely loved every second of it! We decided to both lead which meant we had our own Alpaca on a lead and harness to around the for an hour. The staff were amazing giving so many facts on the alpacas. It was a relaxed with amazing views over the lake. We cannot wait to do it again! Would I recommend absolutely!! 10/10 All food was delicious and fresh Well designed for family surroundings.
