Took in four sparrow chick's and the team got to work straight away, late on a Sunday night! Please donate - incredible work. Went to the Hospital Tour at their open day - wow. What an amazing, dedicated team of 10 paid and rest volunteers. Amazing! We've brought 3 poorly Hedgehogs here over the past couple of years. All staff are delightful, so caring & highly knowledgeable. Exceptionally good care, including out of hours. Highly recommend 👍 Unfortunately, the hedgehog that needed help it was too late for. It is comforting to know that he was looked after instead of being left on a path next to a school. I had never heard of this centre before and am glad I am know aware of it. The staff who I spoke to on the phone and at reception are friendly and love animals, they know a lot about British wildlife and have more chance of helping injured animals than you or I. The website had information that helped me keep "Sonic" comfortable. I would not think twice with regards to taking British wildlife here for help. However, if you are far from leatherhead, it is worth looking for similar closer to the area found if possible. I'm pretty sure folk that can take wildlife to them is helpful as the team here rely on volunteers. Obviously, it is worth assessing whether this is safe for the animal and you, and advice should be sought first. I did this via the website info until I could speak to someone at the centre. There was plenty of info for me to ensure he was as calm and comfortable as he could be until professional help was available to him. Took a a young here that had come out of a nest and they took it in to take care of it. Seemed like a very caring and dedicated bunch of people - I only wish there more people like them in the world. Please donate to them if you can. Wildlife Aid Foundation in Leatherhead are absolute stars! I called them recently for advice about a scold of jay chicks I'd found just out of the nest, and the guidance they gave over the phone was incredibly helpful and reassuring. One of the chicks was very poorly they were then able to take the chick into their care, which was such a relief. It's clear they are dedicated and knowledgeable, providing a vital service for our local wildlife and working with very limited, self-funded resources. Highly recommend and so grateful for their help! Fingers crossed for the little jay and a hope that he rejoins his siblings who have now managed to fly off with their mum Amazing place and so helpful. Will be supporting forever now. So grateful for what they do I am just writing this to share my very positive experience today. We found a sick young wood on a Sunday afternoon, which couldn't fly and would not have survived long with the number of well-fed cats in this neighbourhood. Called up and was answered by a very friendly lady who said they would absolutely take it in. The whole experience was very positive, and I am sure they will look after it well. It's good to meet good people doing good work, making the world a slightly better place. Wonderful place, took an injured to them and thought that was the end of it, 6 weeks later received a phone to say the bird is ready to be released and ideally from the area it was from, we drove down to go and pick it up and released it in our garden, was a lovely moment seeing this once injured bird flying off into the sky I took a in with a nasty open wound and a broken wing. The woman I saw was very unfriendly, even when I made a donation of £20, I hardly got a thank you. I emailed twice asking about the and did not get a reply. The pigeon’s partner has been cooing for his mate. I would have collected the bird but I have no idea what became of it. Overall, not a good experience. I have since found another wildlife centre nearer to me, so if I do find another injured wild animal I shall take it there. I am sure you do a great job with the animals but some feedback would have been appreciated.
