McDonald's

Castle Cary, United Kingdom Fast food restaurant

One of the Top rateds in Sparkford Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Easy to use drive-through. Service was fast and my meal was ready in a couple of mins. Price is good through the app. Toilets was a bit unclean. ***A359 roundabout is gone with roadworks *** A slight detour of a mile or 2. It's worth noting. Big standard Mcdonalds, they are all the exact same. Hot food, screens to order, small car park which can get very busy on Saturday with holiday makers. Next to a Shell garage. All good. We stopped off for a break and breakfast before we carried on our journey. We ordered double sausage and egg muffin meal. It came out quickly but was very greasy and the hash brown was very salty. Toilets were clean and the restaurant itself was tidy. Stopped for toilets and tea only. But can honestly say. The loos were nice and clean. The service to purchase tea was quick and friendly. I noticed a member of cleaning the floor of food left by a family!!!! Just quietly getting on with it. So that new visitors could enjoy their visit........ Impressed!!!!! Dirty floor, dirty tables and seats, dirty toilets ...if I had visited the WC before I ordered, we would have simply left. Not very busy, although the state of most tables suggested otherwise. One employee (manager) sat at a table with her laptop, phone and pencil case (or make up bag?), not looking particularly busy. Another employee stood outside talking with some dog walkers and making a fuss of the dogs (did she wash her hands afterwards?). Meanwhile, customers having to clear dirty tables ... Ordered a cheese burger with extra pickles. Wrapper sticker confirmed this, but there were only 2 slices of gherkin. Ate and left as quickly as possible, but not because of the parking time limit! Avoid, unless desperate. "always delivers" - fresh, hot, tasty. Can't wait to go back on my next drive to/back from Cornwall. If you're planning a Maccys pitstop I would strongly urge you to come here and not the one in Ilminster. Well done McDonald's is a reliable option for a quick and affordable meal. You know exactly what you're going to get, and that consistency is one of its biggest strengths. The service is typically fast, which is perfect when you're in a hurry, and the prices are hard to beat. However, the experience can be a bit of a mixed bag. The quality of the food, while consistent, isn't always top-tier. Sometimes the fries are a bit limp or the burger isn't as fresh as you'd like. It’s a good place to grab a bite on the go, but it’s not somewhere you'd go for a special meal. It’s dependable and convenient, but not particularly memorable. I have been looking to visit Sparkford McDonalds for a while and as it's pretty local on the A303 kind of maybe overseen it. So set out on a set mission to tick this one off. I really like the location next to Wakes Shell Garage and nearby Queen Camel. After negotiating the road cones I do like what I call a small cottage style McD (like Poundbury). The McPlant meal and toffee latte was goid and there was a younger team working. Had a chat with Maddie who served me and I think Sparkford is getting there again. Very slow service and missed an item from my order. This after the original store I ordered from via the app(Wincanton), was closed when I arrived due to not having any power for 3 days. But in your wisdom you're still enabling people to order from that store on the app. Slowest service ever. Food was good but we stood there for 15 mins. Perfectly fine as long as your not there to get quick food and go. It's not 24 hours, certain are rude and if it's not 24 hours, change your website or a sign by the entrance would stop a lot of confusion and disappointment. Especially if you cordon off your carpark, while customers are still parked there with no direction. are messing around or having no at all. It seemed a shock to the manager that customers were asking about service at a fast food place where you serve food 🤔 I wouldn't bother after 8pm. Absolutely disgusting in the restaurant was in here for an hour and not one member cleaned a table or floor that as you can see in the photo was filthy. Nice and manager lady was super nice even made my day feel a bit better as I was in a FOUL mood (hangry) 😂 Absolutely disgusting.. McDonald’s you should be embarrassed. McCrispy this was mean to be £6.78 for that rubbish and a Diet Coke! Absolute con! Got to McDonald’s at 22:10. Both drive thru lanes were closed, I live local and I know that normally one lane is closed at this time of night. The automatic door was shut. We were stood there looking in for a good minute or so. The were talking inside (quite close to us) and didn’t even look at us. Quite blatantly ignored us. The other half managed to open the door and asked the if they were open as to which they said no sorry. No reason given. The opening times on both Google and on their front door state that they close at 11pm. I’ve never had a problem with this place but it seems like the closing times of the drive thru lanes are getting earlier and earlier as well as the front counter. Would be nice to have reasoning and notice in advance. We had to let people know as they parking up to save them doing what we did.
