Went in for a light lunch after touring St Mary's Abby. This restaurant was recommended by the gift shop clerk. It is conveniently located beside the car park. We enjoyed the soup of the day - pepper lentil soup. The soup was served with two rolls and butter. Perfect! The soup was excellent as was the service, I apprecuate that we were not rushed through even though it was lunch time ane rather busy. Prices were also reasonable. I highly recommend Eden for lunch or just coffee and a pastry. My husband and I stopped in here for a quick quick bite to eat while on a tour. I wish we had more time to sit relax and enjoy because this place has a wonderful ambience and absolutely fantastic service. Of course the sandwiches were tasty as well. Thank you! Consistently excellent. They know how to do the basics -like poach an egg beautifully always-but on top of that they do these creative, delicious dishes. I had feta, roasted red pepper, sweet potato, spinach and chorizo skillet topped with two hens eggs for brunch . Just wish they opened in the evenings too as the atmosphere always so welcoming and they are truly dog friendly . Lovely little cafe, with seating inside and out. Table service, a delightful place to sit and watch the world... with the most delicious of scones. Eden was the first restaurant we tried during our week’s holiday in Melrose, and after trying a few other places, we ended up coming back here every day of our stay. The food was consistently delicious, the coffee was perfect every time, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere bustling but calm. The Eden breakfast is very highly recommended - probably one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had, anywhere. So too are the cakes - simply delicious. We called in for an impromptu wee brunch after seeing lots of great recommendations on the gluten free forums and my oh my we were not disappointed!!! First of all the Gluten free menu was SO BIG!! so much choice!! I ordered eggs Benedict on avocado toast, And it was unreal!!! So so so good the bread did not taste like the normal gf bread you get! I could eat it every day! My partner got the pancakes and the look stunning served with berries and maple syrup, I genuinely thought he was gunna lick the plate clean!!!! He said they were so moreish!! The staff were lovely, our waiter was called Paul I think, he was funny friendly and very attentive and informative, he had great knowledge of the menu items and was very helpful. Overall this wee place has exceeded expectations and we would happily go back any time Was greeted passing by a guy telling us they do a "cracking breakfast" and should pop in and he wasn't wrong !!! The waiter (Paul) sat us to a lovely table outside and was very attentive. Full of laughs and banter, had me and my partner in stitches. Breakfast came very quickly, beautifully presented and tasted brilliant !!! Paul was fantastic and the chef Becca, who Paul said cooked our meal, dime a dozen !!! Will definitely be back !!! I feel I can’t give this more stars purely as I’d be reluctant to go back due to menu changes and over the top pricing. Food is good but the pricing had gone up on the last menu update, myself and my family feel it is now over priced. A bacon and egg roll £8.50 - too much. We regularly go out for breakfast every weekend as a family group - which is 3-7 people, when each order is on average including a hot drink £12-16, we won’t be bs k now. This pricing is out with most peoples weekly budget and there are other options available within the area. Melrose is a tourist town but through the winter it’s mainly locals that keep business going, something to note.
