This is a great place to bring your dogs for a walk, and kids will love it! Not your regular zoo. Lots of interactive experiences with the animals. There's also a great playground. Highly recommended for kids. Even though it was a cold winter day we had lots of fun! Small but excellent zoo. A pleasant surprise, compared to other zoos, is that you can actually see all animals. Crowded, lots of old enclosures or enclosures that are being build (no animals), few animals, catering is a complete mess (for example catering point near giraffe enclosure (still being build with one plastic giraffe), has one staff !! If you don't mind waiting 30 min for a coffee.... ......the door to the souvenir shop is blocked by boxes, the shop seems to be gone.....choice of food near entrance is very meager...... Full disclosure - we went in bad weather and maybe were not the best prepared. However, I find it appalling that the owners would allow visitors despite 1. Not having CHECKED the snowy and icy paths for safety and 2. Not doing a single damn thing about it - no sand, no salt. We were just told “things might be a bit slippery”…. Really? We nearly fell multiple times and thank goodness our kid is older, if we had a pram with a baby and it toppled over, it could have been serious. Also really risky for elderly people. We did complain and they told us they were shutting it down after, but I really think the diligence needs to be there before people visit and risk their safety. Won’t be returning here, sorry to say.
