Haven't been to for a couple of years, so this visit was a treat for me, and this was my first visit to Sheilfield Park. Meeting very well organised, no unnecessary delays, and the track was well prepared for fast racing Edinburgh dominated proceedings, and the was a little processional, but nothing deterred me from the pleasure of watching again. No place to dry hands in toilets on the back straight. It's owned by the football club so the are limited as to what they can do. The locals are always friendly and welcoming. Been coming since 1977. Cracking meeting. Free parking before entry (always a bonus). £17 admission and free for my young son. A fast banked track, with an interesting camber due to the slope of the land the stadium lies on. Hot weather meant it was difficult to keep the dust down, which also limited the lines. Decent snack facilities at fair prices and the Bandits shop has a reasonable range of programmes and souvenirs. Great place to watch speedway. Plenty of parking. Plenty of places to stand or sit. If you like fast, noisy bikes and some excitement then the is a must. A small ground, but this means you are right in amongst the action. Always a good crowd and reasonable cost for what you get. Some hot food and drinks available. Worst point is there is only 1 ladies toilet and it's also the toilet for anyone with a disability so always a queue. Great place for and top notch only gripe no beer or ales but other than great experience The venue staff were outstanding. My partner is disabled and they couldn't have been more obliging. Speedway, if never seen before is definitely worth taking the time to go and watch. Well done Berwick Bandits How bad can it get? A track that has been prepared in the same way for over 10 years! The last proper race track was in the days of Peter Waite, who knew how to rip it up and provide grip, not a marbled bone dry skid park with no grip. Persistence to employ riders who have not advanced in their capability for over seven years! Where do we go from here because tonight has taken in Berwick to an all time low. Please save Berwick by getting someone who can prepare a proper surface, and some riders with the potential to improve. This meeting against Workington has just gone to a new low. As a follower from day one, enough is enough! So sad to watch a debacle like this one. After 50 years I am finally ready to give up. Now they have shown their loyalty to Bastian Bourke who after a serious injury flying the Bandits colours, has been cast aside after a handful of meetings!? This decision will come back and haunt us, one thing that stands out is wrong team manager. The rest follows a historical pattern of managerial failings, so sad to see this happening to a Bandits team. I rest my case following Bastians departure, what a replacement they have found in Jack Smith (1 point), no wonder he was available!
