As stated by lots of other reviews this is absolutely not a shop. It only sells a few jarred Jams and Chutneys. The building is dark and scruffy inside and no one even bothered to come out and see what I wanted. Signage is terrible. Also..... The brown tourist sign displayed on the road looks fake, in my opinion. Wrong font and spacing. These signs cost 8 to 20k including installation. As someone else stated the car park is a caravan graveyard. Did not notice a food hygiene scores on the doors notice anywhere, but they may have one. I am baffled how this place stays open. No idea about the cafe, wouldn't eat here anyway but the reviews tell a story. Don't waste your time here, use Google to find the really good that actually sells meat, veg, baked goods etc a short drive from this place. Extremely disappointed drove 20 mins to get there , This is no very misleading quality sign on the road . Oxford only Served cheese /fruits scones , soup , tea coffee . Few items to buy e.g and cakes pre packed . The tea room was not up to much but felt obliged to stay for a drink and scone Felt very awkward as the person serving hardly spoke . A little bit of interaction was lacking wouldn't go again wish I'd gone straight to Berwick shire garden center instead of wasting my time here . Easy parking. Doesn't look much from the outside. No signage of where to go. there was an open door and went in it was like a lobby, small to the right. no one was about, so just turned and left. I could see on way out inside with empty tables. but didn't see anyone. the had some and jam etc I was expecting more if a shop, eggs veg etc, we just carried onto Berwick and stopped there. I think it needs more input to encourage people, better signage and someone to welcome, I was expecting more of a garden centre vibe. I never got as far as looking at the menu. Needs to be run more like a business as it has great possibility. Lovely, quaint cafe - nice conservatory. Small menu but well executed and good value. Pumpkin patch well done up and plenty of choice. We called in on spec only to be told it is not dog which I find very strange considering it's rural location. A group of 6 arrived as we were leaving and asked if it was dog friendly, when we said no they also left. I feel that the owners are missing out big time with their no dog policy considering there was no one in the cafe when we were there. Do not go if you're expecting luxury and fine linen. BUT if you want a lovely hot lentil soup, half baguette cheese/fruit +caramel shortbread bite + meringue+ tea or coffee for less than £9 then scoot along for lunch before soup is gone !!!! Best value south of border 😊😊😊😊😊😀 Don't be fooled by the look of the place . Had a lunchtime soup deal . Bowl of beautiful homemade lentil soup with crusty baguette with butter . with butter and jam , meringue and millionaires shortbread , only £10.25, everything was home made apart from the baguette. Fabulous little find. Small out the way shop. I was there as a Brit Stop user and found it some what lacking in facilities for this need plus parking wasn't set out properly. As a it was in a lovely location and seemed to be set out neatly. The hostess was polite and we felt welcome, work needed for the Brit Stop part. But no means avoid, you will get a rest and be welcome We stopped off here for a cuppa and a and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of each. The 'Oxford tea' is a thing of wonder and takes some finishing - bring your best appetite! Excellent value for money too. The only downside is the place looks completely closed until you get right up to the door, and even then it still looks shut. Ample parking and very motorbike friendly. Stopped there for a quick bite to eat on the way back from Edinburgh. Nothing fancy about this place, but a welcome, clean and colourful. We had a small sort of high tea, consisting of a few sandwiches and cakes, cup of tea and coffee each. Lovely food, and bloody cheap! If you want somewhere poncy maybe try somewhere else, but if you want good decent & reasonably priced food, you won't go wrong here! Some very snarky comments on here about the size and range of goods on sale in the shop, and whether this is in fact a 'Farm Shop'. Well it's a small shop, in a farm, so yes it is. Produce on sale looked great, and I was assured it was all home made. There is a food hygiene rating displayed, 5*, to match this review Lovely cafe serving lunch, snacks and cakes etc. We had the tearoom platter which is a scone, a slice of lemon drizzle cake and a tea/coffee for only £3.65. The food and coffee were tasty and the atmosphere was nice. We’d definitely come here again We stopped whilst on a cycle ride. What a lovely place. Home made food and biscuits. Delicious and filling. Good selection of home made etc. In the shop. We had a great time here picking strawberries and raspberries very well priced . We have visited several times and always found the staff and the food whether you eat in or take away is wonderful quality so if you are passing nip in you won't regret it 😉 😀 We came across this charming farmhouse on our way to Scotland. We enjoyed delicious scones and jam, and of course, tea. Afterwards, we bought some tasty in the to take with us. On our way home, we stopped again to enjoy the food and this place one last time. What a gem of a place! On holiday for a week and needed some snacks and refreshments so we decided to call in. Very warm welcome on arrival. We chose the Oxford Platter which consisted of the below listed items: Large pot of tea for 2 with a pot of extra water We chose the cheese each with butter You get a little pot of chutney each and a generous finger slice of lemon drizzle cake each. Cheese was lovely and fresh, same with the cake and chutney and cup of tea was lovely. The whole platter was absolutely delicious! 😋 and for £5.60 per person £11.20 in total which we thought was amazing value for what you got!
