Village pub with an amazing kitchen. Warm welcome, and superb Sunday with attentive service. I found the dining room a little stuffy so moved outside to finish our drinks. Just had a drink. Walking distance from paxton house caravan park. Took about 10 minutes. Path all the way. Cosy pub. Nice staff. £16 for 3 drinks a tad expensive, food looked nice, but didn't stay for food. Sat outside initially as no seats inside. pub food recommended Fabulous food and service! The owners are and the menu great. We would not have found this place ourselves but word of mouth led us to rearrange our trip and made a reservation. We were not disappointed! dog pub with a menu for dinner. The stuffed mushrooms were our favourite starter. Quite unusual but really tasty. Overall a meal and a pub. My folks have been going here for years and literally never stop talking about it and having finally been I can see why. The were attentive, engaging, chatty and even remembered who ordered what after we decided to move places after ordering, attention to detail like that is a thing and made me feel valued as a customer. The food is absolutely exceptional !!! I'm very fussy about Lamb but I took the plunge and ordered it. When it came there was enough to make me feel full yet not enough to leave without dessert, was this some sort of marketing tactic ? 😜🤔 The lamb literally fell apart in my mouth and was cooked perfectly along with the vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. I do love my mint sauce which was the crowning glory for my main 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Desert was just as as the main their cheese cake has to be 1 of the best I've tasted and left me satisfied and full after what I would say was a dining experience. The atmosphere itself was busy homely family run Inn/Pub feel that had been elevated with the inclusion of being well dressed and light in a very nice way. 10/10, was a day with the family and was made better by the location, food and people. Would highly and sadly can only give 5 stars 👍 Staying near Holy Island as part of the Northumberland 250, new drove up to the Cross Inn for after reading the reviews. Lovely pub inside, feeling modern yet traditional. Very staff. Most importantly, the food was excellent. I had a sirloin steak, which was cooked perfectly and of a generous size. My partner had fish and chips - the fish was thick and delicious. Wish we lived closer so we could go back! Popped in here on a Saturday and have to say the food was absolutely lovely. We ended up have 3 courses each, was and have to say was the best turkey I have ever had. Overall Really little pub and kitchen, super cosy inside and very chilled vibes outside! When we decided to come here for dinner and drinks we didn't know how fabulous this place was going to turn out to be. The was great, the food delicious and the atmosphere very chill. Absolutely recommended! little pub nestled in the Scottish countryside. I turned up on my own without booking and they happily squeezed me in. I had the goats cheese starter and roast lamb for lunch. Both meals were absolutely gorgeous! I'd highly and definitely return. food and service. Goats cheese starter was well balanced and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the Duck (from Specials board) main course, which was very tasty, but may be on the small side for some diners. Finished with a scrumptious Black Forest Roulade. Delightful little pub, in a small village. Strongly that you book a table before hand. Our family group of five all enjoyed their meals. We will definitely be making a return visit. Words escape me to describe this incredible meal! the roast was impeccable and so generous!!! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better I had the sticky toffee pudding, which sent me straight to heaven! The and atmosphere were also top quality. Thank you for this incredible meal, can't wait to come back! pub, has the roast dinner on Sunday and it was sublime! Can’t fault anything about the brilliant and the dining and bar areas were carefully thought out. Ended up staying for a pint of Guinness afterwards too not that we had much more room. Would for value Sunday or a chilled pint after a walk around the area :) Our 200mile trip for Sunday was 100% worth the effort. Well done all the for your outlook and fantastic food. Amazing! What a little pub and restaurant, Top and beautiful food. While in the area we stubble upon this little pub. First off, if you'd like to go, definitely book! It was packed within 30 or so minutes. The food was amazing and perfectly presented on par of some top tier restaurants. Based on a few factors the price is justifiable, on location, property and taste. For two it came to £85 with just two drinks, main and desert. We'll definitely go back if the opportunity arises again. Superb boozer. local pub, a real gem. Food was excellent, the pork belly delicious and steak equally so. really initially with the helpful and but later it got busy and they could have done with another member of staff, no one came back to ask if we wanted to order a dessert but never mind we would definitely go back and highly recommend. Family of four plus a small dog. Food was fresh and so tasty. Homemade and heavenly. What a proper pub nestled in a village. and accommodating. This place is a hidden gem. Thank you very much Just back from this amazing small pub/inn. Had not been before, but will definitely be back. Food was outstanding and considering the quality of the and the food, well worth every penny. If you have not been, this place is a must. Thanks to all the for a truly amazing meal and experience. Amazing food, service, beautiful ambience!!! 10/10 will definitely be back. Highly recommend. Enjoyed another wonderful yesterday. The broccoli and Stilton was the BEST I’ve ever had. The open fire was so nice and cheerful. and atmosphere definitely one of our favourite places Fantastic pub - the food is top drawer, we had chips, steak and a couple of desserts (sticky toffee pud & choc orange cheesecake) and all were of highest quality. drinks & selection of taps as well - enjoyed nice pints, wine & coffees, highly recommend. too. Absolutely wonderful pub and kitchen. and delicious food! This has been the most disappointing dining experience in years. We have had food here in the past, so we booked dinner for 2 as a special anniversary treat. was and the place looks lovely, but the food made me wish we'd stayed at home and cooked ourselves. Starters were OK, although I found the tomato soup over seasoned and my beetroot houmous did not taste of beetroot at all, although it was tasty. The filet beef strip noodle dish for 25.- was a different matter. The dish consisted almost entirely of packet noodles, with 6 thin strips of overcooked beef, and a few random mange tout. The whole starter-sized affair was drowned in a sticky sauce that made everything taste sweet. No other flavours. It was slapdash, randomly thrown together without any care, and did I mention it cost £25.-? My wife's chicken burger with chips was no big shakes but at least OK, although at over 18.- also overpriced for what it was. It's a nice place but with those food offerings we won't be back. Martin Giebner Popped in for - late but we were served the best mussels ever. fun as onion festival in full flow. Thank you 🙏 Have been many times ,always a pleasure. Never disappointed. Looking forward to the next visit this weekend.
