This is a lovely little green space on the outskirts of Tweedbank and is a quick walk from the railway station. The pond is the main feature and is enjoyable for young kids to see the ducks and swans. The neighbouring cafe/restaurant (Herges) is also excellent and makes for a nice outing. Pretty little walk but very dirty corners of the lake with an abandoned restaurant, great shame. The play is very shabby with lots of tatty equipment and an awful atmosphere. However there is a smaller, new play area made of wood, opposite this, which is much nicer. More could be done with this park, such a disappointment. Great to walk the dog , take a stroll in or as like today hold the #Cyclecross #Tweedcross #HappyTrails bike race. Great with loads of room and with a pond and children's play , this is a very nice to spend your time in . The race today was well organized with riders from all over Scotland, England and Wales taking part . Also it has a great place to eat at close by in the name of Herges where there's some great food to be ate . On a nice sunny day what more do you need to chill out and relax. 👍👍👍 Lovely open space to enjoy. Good paths around Gun Knowe Loch and the park, which has wooded areas, picnic areas, play equipment and access to the banks of the river Tweed. Great place to enjoy the outdoors and you meet interesting folk too. Would have been 5 stars if it had a toilet area. Fairly well maintained area with separate parks entirely for older and younger children. There's also an enclosed astro pitch area, a nearby shop for juice and such like, and a duck pond. Lovely for a walk. Greenery, trees, pond with swans and ducks, play areas for children, areas to kick a ball. Good for dog walkers (remember to lift up the poo and dispose of the rubbish). benches, bins. Car parking, disabled bay. Wheelchair friendly. Kept clean and tidy. Close to Melrose and Galashiels. Not far from the train station at Tweedbank. Amazing place free of charge! I would Encourage duck and swan food opposed to bread. Pond has ducks and swans and other small birds. Seating available with a lovely view. Playpark also around the corner.
