This place has a unique feature of being a warm, cozy place to have a coffee with cake after the long walk with the dog in the forest, and at the same time - spectacular Restaurant with an amazing view of the sea and the sunset - for that special occasion. The kitchen is great, I can recommend the fish - and tapas as well. A true gem in the middle of the nature paradise. The atmosphere is very pleasent, especially for a place at the beach. We had the special with saffran risotto an seabass, the vegetables where nicely cooked. Not too soft, and a lot of flavour. Service was nice and not too slow. Amazing atmosphere right by the ocean. The food, however, is way overpriced (I suppose you pay for the view) and borderline inedible. We had breakfast for two, with "Aufbackbrötchen" and OJ from concentrate, I think, for 35 bucks. Plus scrambled eggs (soggy) with undercooked bacon. The coffee was good though. Would recommend for "Kaffee und Kuchen" only. Quite tasty food, maybe a little bit overpriced. Nice cakes. Terrible service, really terrible. We arrived at 6:40, and got the menu really fast. At 6:55 we called the waiter to place our order. At 7:25 we asked the waiter how long it would be before we would get the food. "Coming up, but we have problems in the kitchen". At 7:45 the food hadn't arrived and we left. No apologies on the part of the waiter, when paying for beverages. A chaotic place, with terrible and unfriendly service! In top of this we had to pay for parking.... What an ignorant staff! On our family trip in Kiel, we decided to visit neighboring cities, that is how we landed in Dänisch-Nienhof. On our beach walk, I had an urgent toilet need and this place was the only place I could go to. So I went in with my mom and I used the toilet. Since it is not welcomed to use the toilet as a non-customer, I bought a coffee, which was pretty overpriced. I had to use the toilet for the second time after getting my stuff from my car. I was quite stressed out and did not notice the sign in the first time that said “this is not a public restroom, visitors have to pay 1€”. So I go back in and they say that I have to pay that price- even though I had bought a coffee 10 minutes ago! The waitresses were rude and grumpy towards me. I do not know about the food but they have a terrible customer service.
