Ein sehr schönes Museums Gelände ist echt sehenswert kann viel sehen und erkunden man sieht sogar Tiere ein Besuch für Groß und Klein Nice OLD house and the way they lived about 200 years ago.interesting, but there were so no entry and , the bathroom toilet seat was broken in half. The play for kids was nice ,but the carousel was broken and prand probably will not be repaired. Shit happens. Big to walk and a train to help with the transportation, price is reasonable. It was the 1 May. Man kann diesen Ort nur empfehlen. Ein Ort für Kinder,Erwachsene und Großeltern. Museum,Spielplatz, Abenteuer, alles zusammen. Für Leib und Seele wird auch gesorgt. You have a vast to explore here. Nice actual that have been taken from places around Schleswig Holstein and reassembled here. You will take quite a bit of time walking through all of it, even more if you plan on watching the educational videos about the history. There are small shops scattered throughout the place selling old craft items. You also have benches, a cafe and clean restrooms if you need a break. Unfortunately not all are accessible. Also some information cards had been vandalized, apparently quite a while before, judging from the looks of it. Still, all in all an enjoyable experience. Would recommend. One of the best open-air museums in Germany! It is the ideal place to visit for people of all ages, especially families with children. You can see more than 70 historic from Northern Germany which have been relocated here. The are spread out over a 60 acres large and beautifully landscaped area. Take at least half a day to fully enjoy! For lunch or dinner I can highly recommend the restaurant Drathenhof just at the entrance. For cake and coffee step by the „Meierei“ (historic dairy farm) Nice outdoor with authentic houses. We arrived on the last day of the winter season which meant that many were and they early. Unfortunate with the great weather on a weekeen! A settlement that has witnessed history. Each house has a different texture. The architectural structures are beautiful. There is an entrance fee but it is worth it. There are shops in the where you can buy gifts. There is also a bakery. Definitely come. Set aside at least 2 hours. Because of the current health restrictions a large part of the is for interior viewing, which is a shame, but not realy an issue because the site is so large. For children with no interest in historical there is little to see and less to do exept for a few cuddly goats and a small funfair. On a beautiful day this is a nice place to be out in the open. You will get a glimpse of historic lifestyle of Schleswig-Holstein. There are handicraft souvenirs and even fresh baked bread and local cheese to buy here! Danke 👍 An amazing place where you can spend the whole day. May be it’s the reason to visit Kiel because the town itself didn’t impress me so much. In the museum there is a wonderful cafe which serves tasty cakes and drinks. Very impressive museum with old from different parts of north Germany. Several are opened for entry to see the interior. Would definitely recommend to families with children We loved both indoor exhibitions. Full of interesting facts, inspiring stories and thoughtful insights. Outdoor museum was a bit boring though. Too many buildings, I was expecting to see more traditional costumes, tools etc. Overall nice experience and great value for money. We arrived 2h before the closing of the museum, paid full price, but were not told that all merchants and the fair would close 1h later. The are in a good shape but many were and many parts of the were also off to visitors. We have seen more "open" open air museums elsewhere in Germany. We also missed getting a historic feeling for life in the houses. Nobody was around to tell stories or show how things worked. That said, the grounds are in a good shape and the animals give the place some life. We don't recommend coming later in the afternoon. You need 3-4h minimum to see everything. If you are new in Schleswig-Holstein state and if u r more into history...then this place will help u alot to explore more about the state....the place is quite nice ...its quite large and I open so check the weather before planning ....I am impressed that they have all the historical information and details in English also. Although audio guides are only in German language but hope that they will update to English language also soon. There is fun slides for kids and food restaurants also if u feel hungry in between. In short ...perfect place for day trip. (I believe there is ) A breath of tradition, of nature, of experience and of wonder. I am sure that this is a great visit in Spring / Summer. It was very nice in February as well, but most of it is (not only buildings, but also the path, or areas. But the price remains the same nevertheless. A negative experience that I can express is that we were informed about the family membership for this and some other museums after we bought the ticket already...
