This was an accidental booking for us, after our original destination turned out to be an unmitigated disaster. The Beresford Arms is approximately 5 miles to the west of Morpeth, but it's an easy drive. Our was fabulous, warm, clean and spacious with a well appointed en suite. We didn't have the opportunity to experience the restaurant, as it was closed for Boxing day. However, if the standard of the following mornings, included, breakfast is anything to go by, I doubt we would have been disappointed. All the staff we encountered were helpful and very friendly. A gem of a place, it's firmly on our list of places to stay again. Cute country pub. The steak in the steak sandwich was quality, maybe a bit of a small portion but you get quality meat. We sat outside and it was a lovely quiet area, was lush in the nice weather. We traveled with someone in an electronic wheelchair. Access for them was first rate. In the bar we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of food and drink in front of a cosy real fire. The evening dining and following breakfast were also excellent. Rooms were clean and functional. We booked the Stables Suite for a couple of nights. Lovely space, microwave, toaster, complimentary milk and butter. A delightful private garden with picnic table. All very clean and tidy and had everything you could need. My only criticism would be that although the bathroom is large the shower is pretty small. I managed fine but I am a petite lady, a larger person may struggle a bit. Seemed a shame when there was plenty of for a larger shower. Lovely Inn set in an old village. Out in the countryside with plenty of walks. Car drive to Morpeth which is busy historic town. was in annex & a bit basic but clean & adequate for a couple of nights. choice of Food in the restaurant & lively atmosphere in bar with open fire on Friday although Sat evening was quiet. Staff were & looked after us well. We were in an accessible room. It is clear that a deal of very careful thought has gone in to making it fully wheelchair accessible. Doors are extra wide. All handles are easy to push including for the sink. Grab rails around toilet and shower: seat in shower, which is wet style with no lips or steps. has no lips or steps; hard floors. Sink is at a height suitable for wheelchair users; toilet ditto. Bed was comfy, shower good, a size (and big enough that a wheelchair could manoeuvre around the bed). Food is truly excellent. Staff are and helpful, breakfast is included and very nice. A wonderful place which I heartily recommend. Food is lovely here. Nice size portions. Staff are always friendly. Last time I was here, meals were £20 for fish and chips and Sunday lunch. Now its £25 each. I was sat in the pub part so its not exactly fine dining for a fee. Pretty expensive especially if youre a big family. Food hasn't changed so I dont understand the 25% increase on prices. It certainly puts you off visiting again, which is a shame. Wonderful pub and accommodation. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Breakfast in particularly is to be recommended, very generous portions, ingredients and well cooked. Our bedroom, was quiet, well furnished and comfortable. The staff were very and efficient. Nothing was a problem to them. Would thoroughly recommend. Had a seasonal dish of steak, pureed parsnips, potato and blue cheese parcels - all exceptional. However, the cheese with honey, orange and fruitcake was stand out. Beer and wine great. Wish this was my local and service. Well done. Stayed here for a wedding close to the hotel. The staff are really friendly, the rooms are spotless and helpfully come with an iron and small board, the showers are really powerful (something that always bugs me with other places), coffee machine, free strong wifi, quiet in the evening for a nights sleep, and to top it all the breakfast is amazing. I'll likely be back even without a wedding to go to! 6 stars. Dog and superb food. We are staying local to the pub and visited with our two labradors. We absolutely loved our food and what a lovely warm welcome. I had the stunning bacon chop with duck egg, fresh pineapple and real chips. Hubby had the crumbed wild salmon and squid ink tagliatelle. Absolutely superb. Definitely worth a visit. Came here for food with my daughter for the first time. Food was really beautiful and staff were very attentive and pleasant. Atmosphere was really nice and staff couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be back for more . We had a very enjoyable stay. The was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was very - you need a appetite to manage the full english! The dinner menu was limited in range but everything we had was superb. And the service was great. location for visiting local National Trust properties: Wallington, Cragside and Belsay.
