Had a lovely meal, big portions, dog friendly ,the cheese burger was massive,would recommend and return Nice pub okay food generous portions. A lovely little pub, the staff were friendly and service was quick. We didn't have to wait long to get our food and they were pretty busy. The menu is a decent size so has a nice array of options to cater to all without being overwhelming. They serve hot and cold drinks too. The Wilsey never lets you down! The food (especially the specials and the Sunday carvery) are outstanding, and your cheesecake was gorgeous! The additional touches and service was a delight for a birthday meal. But we did come several times on our holiday You cannot beat a Wilsey Down Carvery! When we are back in the area we will be sure to come again! Nice bit of lunch out Hallworthy today, very good homemade burger I have to say & the salad was equally good but unusual to be presasoned so had to get another which wasn't a problem for them. Great carvery loads of meat and veg gravy excellent meals in the week are also excellent with lots of specials to choose from Down for summer holidays with 10 total people the wilsey down accommodated us for the carvery and it was great full family Food: Pan-fried mackerel with salad, coleslaw and potatoes: very good taste, very fresh ingredients. No over-fried, greasy pubfood at all. Service: We had to wait a while before we got the attention of the staff at the bar but after we did, they were friendly and diligent. Ambiance: typical pub, not very inviting to stay longer than needed. Hearty food at reasonable prices. The lady was helpful and had lovely handwriting. 🙂 You may laugh, but my lady said her lime and soda was the best she's ever had. Great chips too. Great little pub, genuine food and a lovey atmosphere. We didn't use the restaurant as a sit down and order as I attended this place for a wake after a funeral. The food that was supplied was fantastic, constant supply of tea and coffee. The staff member assigned to take care of this area made sure empty plates and cups were cleared, kept the food well stocked and looked after us all.
