Excellent spot to relax, enjoy a drink and feast in the taster menu. We stayed in the South Tyne with lovely views across the river. was immaculate and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the tasting menu and wine flight. Food was really good, well presented and served with a smile by very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Wine flight picked by Alex was lovely as well and Alex was his usual charming helpful self. It was to see him again. Nice breakfast in the morning before a special drive home over some stunning roads. Fabulous stay at this spot. I took the DB&B package and stayed with my dog. The was and the dinner was off the Richter scale. Two small points I would raise is that dog beds should be provided in their luxurious rooms and a provision should be made for a light lunch for those arriving for dinner. The location is very remote and I’m quite sure customers will just want to walk and hang out either in the bar or their room. The were uniformly great. This is an amazing hotel and restaurant offering fine dining in a very friendly and welcoming pub atmosphere. We stayed for three nights which included the 10 course tasting menu which was a dining experience. The sommelier, Alex also provided excellent advice with respect to our wine. The was superb, very warm, well stocked and decorated with a wonderful view of the countryside. Overall we could not fault our stay and will most definitely return if we can. Thank you so much! Our second visit in 2 months. The Inn is in a very peaceful and picturesque setting overlooking the South Tyne river which our is named after. The is spacious. The bed comfortable. The bathroom spotlessly clean, with a walk in shower. We again had the nine course tasting menu which really is superb. The variety of the courses, the attention to detail and the fantastic tastes, should in our opinion, earn Connor a Michelin Star. The service is also first rate. We look forward to our next visit. The attention to detail was fabulous right down to a little reminder about the clocks changing. The food was a real treat, delicious and all locally sourced. The was perfect with so much attention to detail and all the little extras - from fresh milk, homemade biscuits, fabulous toiletries to books and music. The Kirkstyle Gin was delicious and our meal and wines were wonderful all served by excellent, knowledgeable staff. A must visit...you won't be disappointed I couldn’t fault the Kirkstyle Inn and Sportsman’s Rest; beautiful location, accommodation, extraordinary food and service. We travelled over three hours to get there and weren’t disappointed. The were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the food, beer and wine. The pigeon pie with cherry and pigeon gravy was to die for, and the darling blue cheese pannacotta with plum and walnut a work of alchemy. My wife and I had a fantastic time and couldn’t stop talking about it on the way home - we are already planning our return!
