WiFi did not reach the rooms and in the bar area it was spotty. Was barely enough to get work done. That was disappointing. Beds are very comfortable. Otherwise it was a great stay. Fantastic Sunday lunch. £16 for a very generous roast plate with loads of veg and generous meat portion. Very tasty and a great atmosphere and efficient staff. We were warned about a 40 minute wait when we ordered but the atmosphere in the pub made the time fly. So glad we booked- essential- and will return when we’re next in the area! What a great place! Stopped here after a really grim leg of the C2C and got warm, dried off and well fed. Comfortable rooms, good showers. A bar full of locals - no higher recommendation really. The staff were excellent. Highly recommended. Had a really excellent Sunday lunch here - significantly better than pretty much any other pub Sunday lunch I can remember having. Big old portions of everything, excellent beef, vegetables cooked exactly right (or to our taste anyway). The Yorkshire puddings were beautiful, very clearly properly done, and big. Just everything you could ask. Lovely staff. It's in a beautiful village. But it's the food that was really noteworthy - nothing fancy, but done very, very well. This is an amazing village pub with great rooms, hospitality, food, drink and excellent staff. Cannot recommend it highly enough. Situated in a lovely village. We visited this local pub on our first night staying at a nearby campsite. Our intention was to eat here for one out of our five nights, but we enjoyed the pub so much that we went back a further two times. Great food, good value, great friendly service, accommodating of children, and a dartboard that we could use.
