Pecan caramel slice 9/10, rice crispy chocolate caramel thing 9/10. Sandwich however was a little disappointing. Seems like supermarket bread, cheese wasn't melted, pesto likely from a jar too - not a great deal of flavour 6/10. Overall, a nice café, staff were lovely and we came out feeling refreshed, so job done. Very and accommodating. Good coffee and fabulous cake. Properly dog too. Well worth popping in if you're in Doune. Lunch specials looked great, but we had coffee, tea and cakes, which were very enjoyable. Absolutely loved my experience at Buttrecup Cafe in Doune! I can’t wait to go back and try more of their offerings. Always wonderful freshly prepared home cooking. Beautifully presented sandwiches and and the quiche is truly amazing. If you are allergic to dogs as we are, bring antihistamine as it's a cramped venue and wet dogs are common at adjacent tables. That's the only downside. We meet friends at the Buttercup and always very much enjoy the varied menu & helpful staff. Justifiably very busy but nothings a problem. Dog & I must mention the young barrista today who produced our perfect Flat White's We popped into the Buttercup Cafe for lunch and we are so glad we did! They had a varied menu . We had the hamburger, chicken fingers, sandwich, and chicken ceasar salad. All were delicious and fresh. We also enjoyed coffee, cappachino, and the most delicious slice of cinomon aplle cake. The service was wonderful. The staff was cheerful and kind. We would absolutely eat here again. Really lovely cafe, they accommodated our group of 8 easily ( book ahead!) and there was a large choice of menu with something for everyone and a good vegetarian selection. I had ordered a celebration cake to take away with us which was absolutely delicious. Proper home made cakes. Excellent home made burgers and we also loved the soup and soda bread. and helpful staff. We were staying in the village but if you're visiting the castle you should definitely come here. Fantastic Service, Warm welcome, The Scandinavian Club sandwich 🥪 and the Steak sandwich 🥪 are out of this world.
