We stopped here for lunch. It's right next to the service station so very handy. It's a really pub with great food and staff. They do some delicious vegetarian options. Plenty of parking. The building, patrons and workers were all lovely. I felt the menu was expensive and the food I ordered underwhelming and small. I had the prawn linguine and a slice of bailies cheesecake for desert. With a pint that's 30+ pounds (fair enough) but the portion was really quite small and a little boring considering! Pasta costs nothing and for over 20 quid as a main I had about 5 prawns. Left felting underwhelmed by the grub which is all I stopped in for really. The young bartenders where and friendly and the pub itself is really cute. Amazing food was really impressed with the value, quality and portion sizes. I ordered the chicken fajitas and was really fresh and tasty, we also had the Mexican burger and pints of Butty Bach. Always a friendly welcome there , staff are brilliant. Food is excellent!! Would recommend this place to anyone . Beautiful country pub with a delicious menu, highly recommend Sunday lunch here I go for braised beef often when I’m here, staff friendly and Patient with me kids. Great setting looking out onto nescliffe hill with the horses in the field. We usually go for a walk then go for lunch works well for us. Great selection of deserts also and not a long wait. Reasonable cost for a local high end pub, greta space outside also for drinks in the garden or in my case my little ones to run off some steam after eating. Today was our first visit to this village pub we were met with a very warm welcome we had lunch here today the food was amazing homemade steak and ale pie beautiful whole pie and also ordered the Chicken Fajitas which was also good followed by homemade desserts we highly recommend this great family run pub ❤️ A Hidden Gem with Character and Charm Stayed on 2 of July 2025 Stumbled upon this old pub and was completely charmed — it’s one of those places that instantly makes you feel at home. The atmosphere is wonderfully quirky, full of character, and packed with little details that make it feel truly unique. The staff were absolutely fantastic — welcoming, attentive, and full of local knowledge that added so much to the experience. You can tell they genuinely care about the place and the people who come through the door. The location couldn’t be better. Nestled in a beautiful part of town, it’s the kind of spot that makes you want to stay awhile, whether you're stopping in for a quick pint or settling in for the evening. The room you can book isn't ideal if you’re in a wheelchair or high mobility issues Highly recommend if you’re looking for a pub with soul and personality, Absolutely fantastic Regards Stuart We visited on Friday 4th July.I ordered the steak and ale pie with veg_quite good but the broccoli wasn't cooked enough_so hard we left some.my sister not being too hungry ordered the small plate of lamb with minted mash and stem broccoli_again the broccoli undercooked so left some and the lamb was very fatty..about and third fat! She mentioned this to the young girl waitress who said I,ll tell chef_she never came back with a response which would have been nice!She considered this very poor value at £11 odd.
