Stopped today for lunch just to try it as we have pass it quite often. We had a nice warm welcome from the staff, and the food was wonderful, chicken biryani for me and Scampi for the wife. Big portions of food and all at a fair price, we will definitely go back again Good overall Food: nice, good portions Way to long to clear table, we wanted deserts, had to ask then to come to the table. Nobody asked if we wanted more drinks. So one drink order when we probably would have done 3 rounds more Maybe short staffed? Will we go back: yes Went for Sunday dinner and it was one of the worst we’ve had in a restaurant. The meats were all nice but everything else was lacking. Yorkshire puddings were raw apart from the top which were burnt black. The roast potatoes were just barely cooked apart from one side which was black burnt. Same for pigs in blankets and everything else oven roasted. Vegetables were peas, carrots, mash, and sprouts which were all boiled. Sadly one of our trays must have been sat under a heat lamp for much longer than others as the veg had all dried out horribly. Wouldn’t return, food just isn’t of the standard expected to compete with other places nearby. Came for food and it was decent to be fair. I'm going to sound very fussy but my sausage had no colour and looked uncooked which I was told is normal so I can't moan, but for my personal preference I'd have liked colour to the sausage skin, gave mine to a relative who loved it. Staff were great from start to end and would definitely come back. Fantastic food, fantastic and a very friendly atmosphere. Would highly recommend to everybody Was rather looking forward to our lunch today after being recommended by family who have previously visited, only to be let down. Had the roast with extra meat which the waitress had no idea about when she brought it to the table. Then they forgot to cook my wife meal after she ordered first with table service. The roasts we had were definitely reheated leftovers from the previous Sunday, then to top it all off, she found an egg shell in her fried eggs, which we did get an apology for and my wife eas offered a dessert to compensate. But as she didn't want a dessert, we got one for my sister in law instead, however when it came to paying, my mother I law questioned why the dessert was on the bill, and the girl behind the bar said it was because it wasn't my wife that had it!! That is disgusting in my opinion. As someone that used to run pubs, this is not how I would have dealt with the situation and know all too well how certin food becomes after a few days compared to fresh. With all the errors and mistakes and to end paying the full bill is not right. Up to that point the was great, friendly and hospitable, however we left disappointed and unsatisfied by our visit. We enjoyed our food. The restaurant was staffed entirely by children who were all very professional and did an excellent job. Really lovely place lovely atmosphere, gorgeous menu, the staff can’t do enough for you, polite and friendly the it brilliant. The food is stunning. The prawn and smoked salmon starter was amazing fresh juicy prawns. Mains was gorgeous plenty of choice I would definitely recommend The Ivor Food accompanied by a large birthday party that commandeered most of the lounge . Screaming children running around with balloons . Server was inexperienced and not able to answer many questions regarding food and drink . Food arrived after a half hour wait . Fish finger tiger cob was disgraceful in portion size - fortunately we had a reference/ photo from two months ago of the same dish and the difference was startling . 3 minuscule pieces of fish the width of my little finger ! It was more cob than fish . Undercooked chips and limp warm lettuce . My daughter had the roast beef / Yorkshire veg and chips £20. Just awful . Beef like shoe leather a rubbery flat Yorkshire and Luke warm gravey . A minuscule amount of veg in a small dish . £20 🙄 My beef tiger cob was two slices of cold beef and piled with raw red onion . Just shocking . The chef should be ashamed sending this food out . This is gastro pub prices but certainly not gastro food . when the team behind the bar were showed the photos of what was served two months ago to us they did agree the quality was poor . I received a 10% discount off the bill and the lady who authorised it ( saying she had just landed of the plane 3 hours ago ) said “ I hope you appreciate the discount we have given you “ mmmmmm. My son had a poor experience a few weeks ago so this isn’t an isolated incident . Am sorry I won’t be returning . The 3rd picture is what was served two months ago . The first picture was the latest offering . The best Sunday dinner in Wales! Always so tasty with amazing service!! Would highly recommend The best afternoon tea ever..Great selection of savoury and sweet offerings. Only criticism is pots of tea cooled really quickly, but were replaced when we asked. It's was really busy with Xmas lunches but our food took a whole to come out..definitely worth the wait though. Visited earlier today for a Sunday roast and we waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive. We felt our order was forgotten about and when asked how long our food was going to be we were told it’s on the way. When it arrived food was cold and Yorkshire puddings were completely soggy which meant they were obviously microwaved. We returned our food as we felt it was inedible and when a ‘fresh plate’ was returned the Yorkshire pudding was still burnt and everything else was just awful. We couldn’t fault the as they tried to fix everything but you can’t fix a kitchen when all the Sunday lunch just seemed microwaved. Absolutely stunning meal. Nicest we've had for a long time. Very friendly staff, great service. Can't say enough nice things. Definitely be back Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
