Love the Towpath! Have visited on previous occasions for the guest vendors but today we came down for their own wood fired pizzas. Booking is not essential as there are outside picnic benches on the street, courtyard and on the canal that are first come, first served but there are covered booths outside and inside seating that does require booking. Staff here are fab, extremely friendly and really good at their jobs. The food is freshly cooked and delicious! And the waiting time is more than reasonable. Basic pizzas are a good price but additional toppings range from £2 to £3 so it's really easy to end up with a really pricey meal! (I have been reliably informed by the OH that if you want spicy, the nduja is the way to go!) Good range of drinks - points off for Inches (🤢) extra points for Orchard Thieves. Husband loves the draught Red Stripes. Nice range of cocktails and I would recommend the Tow Tiki. Overall, an excellent experience, would highly recommend 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Popped in on Friday night after looking for a good place to spend a few hours after our drive .Great little place on the side of the canal and road.good outside eating and drinking area with wooden seating and heating .inside a mix of seating great local beers .the barman was hilarious and welcoming the chef/boss was on the ball with the great pizzas he makes .definitely make it a stop if your passing .10/10 . Nice pub, really friendly staff, and although we didn’t eat here, we read the reviews and we also see some of the food being served to other customers, and it smelt and looked absolutely unreal! People eating looked very happy. Only downside to this pub is the price of a pint, which our cab driver said gets a lot of complaints. He did also say their is famously good Wow! We came here all the way from Bristol as we’d seen an instagram reel of the Towpath’s Detroit style pizzas! We had a each and a garlic bread and I had to take half my home they were so huge! Amazing quality, well worth the trip! The best deep dish in Wales! We’ve been wanting to try this spot out for a while and so glad that it did not disappoint. They serve both New York and Detroit here and we went for a half and half Detroit style. The price was very reasonable and it doesn’t cost you more if you fancy a half and half, which is very considerate for folks who want to try out two different flavours. The was simply the best you could find in South Wales! We travelled 45 mins to try the Detroit pizza! And we’re so glad we did! It was bloody lovely! The pub was very quiet, but we’re glad it wasn’t too busy! Service was great! The Pepsi barrel run short and we were made fresh drinks without asking! Food came quite quick! Our eyes were bigger than our bellies (even tho we’re all foodies) and we had to take some home with us - generous portions! We signed up for the membership trial, and happy to say we’ll definitely continue it and be back! Some great offers to be had!! Saved a lot of money! Great meal! Great pizza! Great selection of drinks, very friendly staff and very comfortable beer garden with heated booths, if anyone is passing it’s a must stop and visit place.
