Visited here occasionally over last few years when visiting my mother who lives in the area. Always has good quality food for the price. Staff are very and attentive. I think they used to have some staffing issues at busy times, but this seem to have been rectified. On-tap guiness is very good, not always the case in all places. Food was delicious and served promptly. Good place for casual and drinks, recommended! My family and I stopped at the Willow Tree for some lunch after doing some shopping. We had not booked but thought we'd chance it. Upon walking in, we saw that only about a quarter of the tables were occupied (around 13.15hrs). We asked at the bar for a for four only to be asked if we'd booked. We hadn't so were turned away. We stood outside and went to the booking page on their website - We could have booked a for 13.30hrs and walked back in, but we didn't want to give the pub our custom. We went to the Brewers Fayre in Abergavenny instead - great and lovely food there. Food was lovely where and helpful. Only minus to this was the rubbish outside looked terrible. I know it's on a retail park so it looks like it blown onto their front fence and built up .if it was my first I'd be put off but this place is firm favourite to after work or shopping trip . Will definitely be returning . Fairplay today the for 10 people all came out together, piping hot. Nothing was too much trouble. was very helpful with great service. Would definitely return 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Hidden Gem – The Willow Tree Pub I recently visited The Willow Tree and was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and who made me feel right at home. The pub itself has a lovely, rustic charm — cozy enough for a quiet pint, but lively enough for a great evening out. The food was absolutely spot on — freshly prepared, hearty, and full of flavor. The Sunday roast, in particular, was one of the best I've had in ages, and the selection of local ales and craft beers was fantastic. It's clear the team takes pride in what they serve. What really stood out, though, was the attention to detail and genuine hospitality. Whether you're popping in for a drink, a meal, or a family gathering, The Willow Tree offers a top-notch experience. I’ll definitely be coming back — highly recommended! Came for a 21st birthday beautiful food with excellent made to feel very welcome by the warm, friendly, polite very highly recommended My friend and I called in for a following a hospital visit. We both had a very nice turkey roast served by very nice staff. My only complaint would be that I think that £14.99 is way overpriced for the meal, especially for its small size. I’m not complaining about the portion size, it was perfect for me and allowed room for a lovely jam sponge and custard, but £9.99 would have been stretching it! There are many served roasts and carverys in the area of a higher quality and quantity for a much lower price. Great staff Great atmosphere Great food We booked for 2 adults stated would need an highchair....arrived to a for 2 that was to high for the highchair so baby couldn't eat off table.....within a minute came over and sorted the situation got us another ,apologised.....So professional and polite! 100% again 100% recommend anyone to Went for Mother’s Day lunch A solid, no-frills pub with your standard surf and turf fare. The food was fine, nothing special, just the kind of pub grub you'd expect. However, what made the memorable was Annie, the server. She was fantastic – qnd attentive. While the pub itself is pretty standard, Annie’s exceptional made the experience great. Excellent food, shame that there wasn't enough to cover at lunch time. One person( manager) was trying to do everything from seating customers, taking orders and serving drinks. The rest of the front of house were late in arriving. Well done to the manager. We absolutely love this place! it's our local and we're always here haha! the cannot do enough for you and are very and chatty, the food and atmosphere are fabulous. Kevin, Rhys & Cameron are brilliant & always squeeze you in when busy. They accommodate large numbers when we have needed them to (15+) This place is always our first choice. & To all the whose names I havent mentioned (as I don't know them) please don't feel left out your all brilliant too x First time visiting the area. Service from the outset was very good. Big shout out to RHYS, who allocated our table, served our drinks & brought our menu choices to the table. Great service! We really enjoyed our food. Fish as the main course option, followed by desserts of Cheesecake & Crumble. Thanks to all the Team - and well done Rhys (again). 👍👍 Amazing restaurant with amazing service. Food was worth the wait and the lad Kevin behind the bar was the nicest most polite gentleman ever. Amazing place and would recommend to anyone as it’s also incredibly affordable. Food was lovely, was quick and all the were so accommodating and friendly, particularly the manager Kameron, who went out of his way to ensure we had an enjoyable visit. Will definitely be returning! We took a party of 3 into The willow Tree just on the off chance for some food. The was very polite and helpful sitting us sit down asap. The Food was cooked to a high standard, the restaurant was of high cleanliness and our server Kevin was very helpful and was pleasant. Will come back again I arrived and waited while the were talking, so I just sat at a table. I was then told to sit anywhere, but called back to wait to be booked in. The food took far too long – we waited over an hour, and that was only for two mains between three of us. My nan, who doesn’t eat much, just ordered a starter. She finished it by herself, but we still weren’t served our mains until her plate had been cleared, which caused an even longer delay. The drinks were disappointing too – both the lemonade and Pepsi were flat. I asked politely for replacements, which a member kindly brought, but they were still flat. By then I was too frustrated to ask again. When the food finally arrived, we had requested mushy peas but instead were given garden peas – brilliant! Overall, sarcastically the and food were very poor. I’d recommend paying for your only after you’ve actually received it.
