The journey there is incredibly convenient, and the views upon arrival are simply awe-inspiring. We opted to take the bus 840 from Salzburg, which whisked us directly to the Königssee boat dock. This was such an easy and efficient way to get there, taking all the hassle out of the trip. And the views from the moment we stepped off the bus were just jaw-dropping. The crystal-clear emerald waters of the lake - it's a picture-perfect alpine scene. The sheer scale and beauty of the landscape is genuinely breathtaking. After soaking in the views, we decided to hop aboard the iconic electric boats that cruise the length of Königssee. And as an extra special touch, the boat captain plays his trumpet to lure out the world-famous Königssee echo across the waters. It was a truly unique and memorable experience. After the boat trip, we then chose to embark on a hike to the magnificent Röthbachfall waterfall. The trail was well-marked and the journey itself was an absolute delight, with stunning vistas around every corner. It took us around 90 minutes to walk there. Definitely a can't-miss when visiting the area. Konigssee itself is lovely but come prepared and do the hike back around Obersee and up to Rothbach falls, as well as stopping to see St. Bartholomä's church on Konigssee Alles Gut I had a good experience.
