We had a group of about 14 people eat here. We pre-booked the table and food and it make it much easier and they printed out peoples selections as well. This made it every easy to handle. The food was brilliant and the service was fast. It has a cosy pub atmosphere, traditional decor and the price was reasonable. Overall a great experience. Nice pub in a nice quiet village. Popular with locals rather than just tourists which always a good sign. Menu good and quality of food was as hoped for, the curry was plentiful and great, as was the fish and chips ! Great food, great service & cosy atmosphere. The food here is amazing. I had lamb, which was cooked to perfection and just melted in my mouth. We booked Sunday lunch for 12 adults (along with 6 dogs too!) and we were made to feel very welcome. The beef was incredible. It was £22 for 2 courses. I will definitely be back! Again, I am unsure why you said i said nothing that evening ? My personal opinion is that it is nowhere near the atmosphere and quality of what it used to be, which I am entitled to and the fact it's taken a month to respond to a customer shows the level of service. We are both vegans. The place we were supposed to go had run out of vegan choices, so we phoned the star and they managed to fit us in. I'm glad we did, it was a far nicer place all round . We took our Visitors for a Sunday roast, we think it was one of the best we have had. Beautiful Lamb, fresh vegetables all served on a hot plate, asked for extra gravy which was no problem. Staff very friendly and would definitely go again and hopefully soon. A afternoon lunch. My wife and I visited this afternoon and were truly impressed with the food and service. I had the venison pie and it was one of the nicest pies I’ve eaten for a long time. I also ordered a side of onion rings and I was not disappointed.
