Only reason for a 4 star, not 5 star,is that I feel they can be more welcoming to solo golfers, and can try and find a spot to play with members who wouldn’t find having a guest with them. As I am a solo traveler, it’s good to meet with local people. Unfortunately this area of south wales can be a little insular to outsiders. But stunning course if coming with group. Played as a visitor recently. Lovely course in condition. Fab welcome from the staff and met some very members on the way around. Will definitely be back! What lovely old style Welsh golf course stunning scenery layout and super people all extremely and hospitable. value for money too. Played the course Saturday 25th January, considering the weather we had the course was in condition. The staff and members were very welcoming and friendly. Well worth a visit. After a couple of hours of torrential rain overnight, the course was still in fairly condition. Wet in places but didn’t distract from a challenging course. It has something for all capabilities. It’s a 40 min drive for me to play but I’ve played it 4/5 times in last two months - still can’t get used to ‘cardiac hill’ though! Views up and down the valley are amazing too. Playing again soon Had a round here with 3 friends a few weeks ago . The course was looking in shape for the time of year . All the members we met on the course where and helped us navigate the course properly . We had a beer bought for us by one of the long term members as they noticed we were guests 😝😝 all in all it was a day with the boys at mount Gould course .
