Had a truly wonderful breakfast at this café with friends and family. The environment was warm and inviting, and the service came with big smiles that made me feel right at home. The food was incredibly tasty and do especially loved the burnt cheesecake, it was absolutely divine! This place definitely made my day. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delightful breakfast experience! We dropped in to Tambo Valley when we were visiting Bruthen as part of the East Gippsland Winter Festival. The store and adjoining are beautifully laid out with a huge range of related gifts including candles, local chocolates, jewellery, bee socks, based alcohol products and of course a huge range of Tambo Valley honey. The tasting is free and the staff can tell you all about the farm and the family that own and run it. It was really interesting to learn about how the bees go on tour to different parts of the state to pick up the local pollens which lead to the creation of different flavoured honey. The is lovely and inviting and offers possibly the best dining in Bruthen! The kitchen is run by an excellent (female!) chef, Sam, who takes pride in creating dishes that are not only based, but also use quality local ingredients. The menu looked so inviting but on this occassion we just stopped for coffee and a massive slice of delicious burnt cheesecake - yum! Highly recommended We went for brunch on a Saturday. We enjoyed our meals. The owner also has an indoor active bee hive (no danger of coming in touch with the bees) He called us over to show us the queen bee, and to witness the bees dancing) We loved this little cafe! The food was great and the drinks were delicious. Service was slightly slow but they were busy so I won’t fault them! The lady in the tasting section was super helpful and knowledgeable and she was very friendly! 🚻 > yes ♿️> yes 🌱> lots of GF and DF options Absolute GEM, delicious food, perfect teas, heaps of room, without being crowded. staff, very reasonable prices. Definitely recommend stopping. The is somthing else The people running this were so and are passionate about bees and honey. He gave us a tasting and was very knowledgeable about the different honeys and products. The chai I ordered was a leaf brew and tasted lovely. We also got a jelly slice, the baked cheesecake and a apple custard pie slice. The jelly slice was fantastic, the cheesecake I was told was very good, the apple custard pie was nice just a little too much crust. There were bee colouring sheets to keep kids entertained and there is a beehive inside a glass box and a clear pipe connected to the outside so you can watch the bees come and go and work around the hive. Overall a lovely shop/cafe with a very calm, vibe. Great selection of food, and service. We had the egg and bacon panini takeaway and it was 👌👌👌. Good simple food done well. Coffee was brilliant also! Bought some soap that smelt amazing from the gift while we waited for the food. Had lots of nice space to eat in, will dine in next time! Highly recommended they had a ramp which was great and a staff member opened both doors for me to get through. Staff are and food was beautiful. AAA+ 3 people but I only took a photo of my ricotta gnocchi A gorgeous cafe. The service was and welcoming, food was absolutely delicious and we were delighted to the variety of based products they had available as well. Will definitely be back! I hadn't been here for quite some time, and asking myself why not? Fabulous coffee, best toasted sandwich using fresh local ingredients ... luckes double smoked ham and Maffra cheddar cheese and to top off paynsville pantry relish. Omg delicious. The atmosphere and service is by far the best in area, accomodating staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome very proffesional thankyou so much. ....ohhhh and great music !!! Twice I've been here and both times I was served scalding hot coffee. Of course this would be fine if I had ordered it to be, but as standard it's not how coffee is supposed to be made. Food is okay, however the cake is great. Tambo Valley is an absolute must visit! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth and kindness by Chef Evelyn and our lovely waitress Leah. Their friendliness made the whole extra special. The food and desserts were simply outstanding & beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and prepared with so much love and care. Each dish was a delight to the senses! And the honey… wow! The variety they offer is magnificent, truly showcasing the richness of the Tambo Valley. If you’re in the area, don’t miss this gem. Wonderful people, excellent food, and some of the finest you’ll ever taste. A truly memorable experience! 🍯✨ This place is not family at all. I came in for lunch with my infant twins, and had the most humiliating experience. Not a single waiter offered to help or find us a suitable table when I entered the cafe. I found a table and parked the pram next to it before grabbing a couple of high chairs for my babies. It wasn’t until I had my twins in the high chairs that a waiter came and then abruptly started shifting chairs and tables to make more room for us. He was not at all in his manner, and then spoke to me quite rudely, saying they ‘don’t have space for prams’, and began trying to shift my pram saying he was ‘taking it to the back of the shop’. This was an incredibly humiliating experience. I was forced to have to rush to grab personal items I needed from the pram while he was literally wheeling it away. I go out frequently with my twins and often on my own, as I am a single parent, and most owners and waitstaff are and accommodating. My twins are almost a year old and not once until today have I been treated so rudely by someone working in a service industry. This was shocking and appalling. I would have left if I weren’t hungry and already in such an awkward situation without even my pram to put my twins back in. After the rude waiter whisked off with my pram, another person came to my table to take my order, who was to my relief a lot friendlier. That was honestly their only saving grace. The food was mediocre and certainly didn’t fit the price tag. I ordered the smashed avocado, which cost $23, and barely had any avocado on it at all. It was rather disappointing, especially after what I had to endure to be able to eat there. I will never go there again after this and certainly won’t be recommending this to anyone else, especially people with young children.
