Aboyne Green

Aboyne, United Kingdom Park

One of the Best Places To Visits in Aboyne Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Aboyne Highland Games a brilliant spectacle. Spent the whole day there in a gorgeous August day something happening for the whole day, started 10:30. Large expanse of parkland with picnic benches and wrought iron benches scattered around its perimeter. Public toilets are a short distance away along the High St. where there is a small selection of shops, one of which incorporates a cafe. Overlooking the park there is a quaint wee paper shop selling a selection of goods, hot and cold food, takeaway tea and coffee and little tubs of ice cream. All shops are wheelchair accessible Nice green for a walk and playground This is a brilliant green space. You can play football and rugby on it as well as many other sports, there's a clay park for the kids and plenty picnicking space. We were using it as a Quidditch pitch for Segway Quidditch which was rather strange but fun (Google eguide Scotland for Segway hire) Aboyne Green is a total sun trap on a hot day. Surrounded by stunning scenery and right beside all the Aboyne shops, cafes and take always it’s a great place to visit and relax. There are several restaurants in close proximity and the Boat Inn which has a beer garden. Also only a short walk from the the river Dee and the Spey Way cycling/walking path. My friend and I had a walk by river in Aboyne which was amazing in the sun then stopped at the green for a takeaway coffee from The Paper Girls shop. Sun was glorious and the Green was peaceful. Our Highland games while in Scotland. It was a rainy day but a very enjoyable day. Visited Aboyne Highland Games. A very well organised event packing in all sorts of competition. The location is perfect and the entrance made by the masses pipes and drums was quite something. Well done to the organisers of this event.
