Check in was quick and efficient on arrival and clear instructions were given on how to find our room and fire evacuation procedures. The room was very clean but very basic and tired. We ate in the bar and whilst we had been told that they were short staffed, our meals took about half an hour to come and then the bottom of the lasagne was inedible as it was so burnt but I have to admit, we didn’t complain so they didn’t have the chance to do anything about this. Back at the room, you could hear everyone coming and going, lots of banging doors etc which I could still hear at around 1am and the people walking around didn’t even lower their voices! I could even very clearly hear the people above us turning over in bed or going to the loo throughout the night. At 5am, we could hear people showering, chatting and they had music playing!! So, unless you sleep solidly, you may not get a great nights sleep. However, breakfast was fantastic! Plenty of choice, cooked really nicely and very tasty - definitely the saving grace of this for us. We got our room on a half price deal for around £60. We would have been gutted had we paid more! If you’re part of the outdoor pursuits community and need somewhere to lay your head for the night, I can see that this is the perfect place to but maybe not if you’re looking for more. Very friendly, welcoming and clean. Lovely food, although could have done with refilling the tea/coffee machine more regularly, and the bed had seen a few too many Winters. Great social vibe! Faultless with this hotel. The went the extra mile to ensure our was perfect and regularly checked if they could do more. This level of service is amazing to see and receive. I would have absolutely no objection in recommending to friends and family. The rooms are decent and for the money you pay I would say good value The bar area is really nice with a decent food menu. Overall a great with this hotel The course and booking are just so incredible. I haven't actually stayed with them yet, but my experience booking with them has been so wonderful that I already wanted to share. They are so accommodating and good to work with. They've been so patient with my back and forth and my endless questions. Always quick to respond and kind in response. The whole team and everyone on it (I spoke to Jen, Alex, Clare, Lucy, Jo, and Lou!) offer the most amazing help. Really couldn't ask for better service!!! They deserve 5 stars and gold medals all around! Just completed a 2 day Mountain skills course. The wind and rain howled for both days and we learned so much about navigation, map reading, compass use, including taking a bearing and how to happy even when up a hill with 60pmh gusting winds are trying to peel you off. Will our instructor was fab, friendly, kind and great fun. The people we met on the course were very game and good fun. Plas Y Brenin is a really inclusive centre. All the really happy to help. Had my third course here last week which was Intromediate Sea Kayaking. Yet again, a great experience. Instructors were very skilled at selecting the right venues for the group and were very professional throughout. Food providing during the course was excellent and all were a credit to the centre. I will definitely be back once I've practiced the skills from the course I've just done. We had the pleasure of staying at Plas y Brenin during our three-day visit to Wales, with the main goal of climbing Snowdon for the first time. The Centre proved to be an outstanding choice. Its ideal location, combined with a restaurant offering tasty food and stunning mountain views, made our truly enjoyable. The were consistently friendly and welcoming. The overall value for the services provided was excellent. We were also particularly impressed by the high standard of cleanliness throughout the Centre. I would definitely recommend Plas y Brenin to anyone visiting the area, and we very much look forward to returning in the future. Everytime I come to this place to use the bouldering theres always an issue, either there are works on the building that have nothing to do with the bouldering was just for overkill of H&S, Ive waited there before for nearly an hour because one of the porters was out, I have asked to borrow some equipment before and they informed me they cant which is beyond me as its a climbing centre, bizarre how the centre can be booked out for a week at a time but theres no notice at all, had food here before which my dog would of turned its nose up to. The place is just an unfriendly environment it screams out of the military aura which the seem to have uptaken and couldnt be anymore unhelpful Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
