I cant the enough. The we had, Ian and Edan were both super enthusiastic, encouraging to be adventurous. The views inside the mine, the knowledge they shared about Geology about the ziplines, the adventures, the stories. Everything was from the beginning to the end was magnificent. I was taking picture with my phone all of the time, go pro was not a good idea because of the helmet and the headlamp. they gave us shoes to wak inside the mine which was so frankly I wouldn't change a thing. I thought before going that might be slightly expensive but it was not at all, i have been in a few similar things that sometimes is too controlled, and standard and a bit boring in the end but this was not at all like this ! I booked myself, partner and 11 year old daughter on this trip. I thought there would be a few more people but luckily it was just us. We met with Andy got kitted up and if we went to the van to be taken to our starting point. Andy took us to the mine and we descended. We were taken down and did a zip line, abseiling, a little boat trip and various other activities. Andy gave us a narration around the mine, its history etc. We all had an excellent time and a big thank you to Andy! We will be back for the next adventure up. Safety is top notch! were great! The climbs are easier than they look.. wellies and harnesses are provided. Wear the wellies!! It is extremely cold in the mines so wrap up if you’re one to get cold. Take a small lunch or picky bits. Wild wees only. Fun day out for sure, if it was a dry day we would have explored the national park, but instead we scurried back to our lodgings and got warm and got some food! Zip wire across the caves and massive drops. Initial walk was scarier than some of the climbs. For my first free fall I liked it bc it wasn’t much of a height or fall and the bungee cord catches you quickly (apparently) but I the experience! :) 4/5 as I got exceedingly cold Excellent! If you haven't done this experience, I highly it. We did the 5 hour one, which consisted of a walk to the entrance then multiple activities inside, walking through history and amazing views. I don't want to spoil it and tell you what we did in the mine but all I can say is, it was truly fantastic! Ollie & Jonny where excellent guides: knowledgeable, thoughtful of people who hadn't done anything like this before and extremely attentive. Thanks for a fabulous birthday! We had the most amazing at Go Below. From the second we entered the mine I knew it was going to be great. The challenges were extremely well thought out (and far more challenging than I expected, in a good way). The whole excursion was so fun and exciting, I highly this and we would 100% go back and do it again! Our were very informative and also super encouraging when times got tough. Honestly, don’t hesitate and make sure you give it a go! Our group of five friends did the Go Below Ultimate Xtreme in August, and it was a life-changing day out. The physicality of climbs, drops, ziplines and scrambling about in the dark is fabulous in itself. But all the way through, our were giving us knowledgeable and respectful commentary on the history of the slate industry (thank you Jen and Leigh!) - so by the end, we had an incredible insight into how the miners and quarrymen worked down there. Incredible. Moria's got nothing on this. Heartily recommended. Ultimate Extreme, What an experience! If you want an activity that you’ll never forget and really pushes you, this is it. We were only a group of 3 so went right down to the cabins on G floor. The leaders were and really informative. Well worth the money. It was really interesting seeing the line and getting a feel of the history. Would absolutely if you can manage it. Really got the adrenaline pumping! I heartily challenging youself and going on the Ultimate Xtreme Trip! I loved it so much I wish I could go again immediately! Arguably, type 2 fun very much mixed with type 1 fun. Ultimate Xtrteme was actually my second trip with Go Below. I went on their Challenge trip last year, loved it, but thought that it was not scary enough. Ultimate Xtreme is plenty scary, especially if you are afraid of heights (in this case, I would still going, but always going first (after the guide) during all activities that require attaching and re-attaching yourself to the safety system, this way you will not be staying still in some awkward position while waiting for the people in front of you to re-attach their carabiners. And don't look too closely into the darkness below). Our Aidan and Johnny were very helpful (and funny, I hope they are doing great) and made us all feel very safe and comfortable. You also get to learn lots about the mines during the trip, so do not hesitate to ask your questions. Ugh, I wish I bought the T-shirt that they sell, I want the world to know about the kind of adventures you can have. I guess I will have to visit them again next time I'm in the UK! Thanks for the amazing experience!
