Lovely cafe in very scenic village near the Gortin glens. Tasty food and great coffee. They sell local high quality foods, such as honey, meat and cheese. Plenty of free parking in the village and they have their own carpark. A great place. I had a late lunch here with a friend here today. Had a lovely toastie each. Really great. Friendly staff. We had chicken and chilli panini and the Pancake bacon stack. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Don't forget to visit the basement shop which sells local delicatessen (butters, hams etc) and also yummi ice cream. The Abernethy Chipotle, Chilli and smoked Paprika butter is a special choice. Great food and great coffee. A very pleasant setting in the former bank. (Complete with safe) Staff are really friendly and were very accommodating to me and my family. A perfect place to stop after a walk in the forest park. Took the family out here at the weekend for some traybakes and coffee all were ok, bit pricey to say the least but what really shocked me was when my two kids went up to get themselves a drink each at the counter to which I'd given my child a £10 note for them to come back to our table with a tin of orange fanta and a small carton of ribena juice and hand me £4.70 change I mean really!!! £5.30 for a tin of fanta orange and a carton of ribena. I'm all one for supporting local small businesses but when they start charging extortionate prices I will never be back (once bitten forever smitten) Attached are the photos of the same drinks which can be bought further down the road from you A soulless characterless cafe. On a visit with family, one member ordered for all of us at the desk and paid. The waitress overworked, coffee took 20 minutes to arrive. Soup for 3 was inedible, green spicy lukewarm soup. No cutlery provided, had to search this out 3 times. A main meal of avocado on toast was not edible, old avocado uncooked bacon and burnt fried egg. The long wait was not acceptable and trying to alert the waitress was impossible as nowhere to be seen until we left. It’s little wonder food must be paid for before tasting. It’s was indeed auld and weary. Not one thing to recommend this place sadly We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch here, so much so that we returned the next morning. Food was delicious and well-priced. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. Staff were courteous, and it was so nice to see them interact with their regulars. Stopped off here today on a road trip, a great find. I had the leek and potato soup, it was absolutely beautiful and my friends had the chicken and chorizo toastie and a scone with coffee and tea.
