Siamo nel centro di Baveno, in posizione sopraelevata rispetto alla strada litoranea. L'impianto originario della chiesa è romanico, risalente al XII secolo, ma sono evidenti aggiunte e rifacimenti di stile diverso nei secoli successivi. All'interno affreschi gotici decorano i pilastri e sono presenti altre interessanti opere d'arte. Il complesso monumentale è davvero gradevole e meriterebbe di essere conosciuto maggiormente.
