A bit too crowded, but the "pistas" were - specially for 1st timers - the staff was incredible and the have plenty of services to offer (lessons for kids and adults, different levels, ski and snowboard and entire morning classes for toddlers), recommended! Only a couple of hours drive from Madrid. The resort is quite small, but it is an excellent place for children to learn. Is the perfect place for a sky weekend. Unfortunately the only ski store was always closed? I always have a lot of fun when I go there! The problem is the weather there. It's really hard (at least in my experience) to have two days in a row with weather for skiing or snow. Also the material that is rented there is not very good. It is enough for beginners, but they should have the option to get better gear by paying extra. Nevertheless it is the closest place to ski near Portugal! place to ski near Portugal. Its not expensive and have some kms of snow to ski. Its a shame that when I visited was too foggy, but I will come back certainly. We had a great experience here last year in 2023. We did a ski lesson for our little girl and some sledding. Unfortunately, this year they did not open during our visit…and seems they have not opened much at all this year. There was recent and snowfall, and the last two days of our trip were beautiful with weather conditions. Not sure why they decided not to open…we were quite disappointed. A real shame - a lot of snow, but the chairlift does not work. The visitors are able to only use 3 pre-beginner slopes (200 m each), that's a 10 seconds ride for the intermediate skier. Disastrous management, not to be ready to open in these conditions. And zero communication about the reasons of the closure. PS. The staff in ski-rental is very friendly, nice and helpful - that is the reason for 2 stars, not 1. Abhorrent! Absolutely appalling terms here. Checked the weather conditions, booked hotel, travelled the distance, pre-booked & prepaid for lifts & equipment, and they are CLOSED on a sunny day!! No REFUNDS!!! Absolutely HORRIBLE!! Never again.
