Tērvete Wooden Castle

Quite interesting, and with many shiny archeological replicas. But the atmosphere is not too convincing, it's still a bit like from 90s. With a box from bananas in the darker side of exposition with a hope that noone will notice it. I would also have been happy to buy some souvenirs (maybe some replica, or at least a T-shirt) - but there are none. Interesting construction, something like a medieval castle made of wood, with a museum inside. Actually the place was closed ant the entrance was blocked by the fence. Not sure if this place works at all. Cool little castle with excellent exhibits in the small museum inside. Definitely worth checking out when travelling through the area. Not much to see, construction itself made you doubt if health and safety been followed properly as there was loose hand rails and wobbly steps. Definitely not worth the money as you was left to wonder alone with no explanation and no description at the exhibition objects. Amazing place, multiple exhibitions inside, you can see how they lived, also you can wear a chain mail, shield and an axe, cool experience, also the host is very friendly and will tell you a lot about history. Incredible place run managed by an archeologist, who is full of knowledge. This place, moreover, is highly historical and has a ton of interesting artifacts found between 2000 and 2010. There's more work being done it, more findings being made, and it will take time before this place is complete in its full glory (still in construction, which will likely take years). Strongly recommend it, just please call in advance to find out if the place is open! Note that admission is cash only! Very nice. It is being restored, but there is a lot of items that would have been used and worn in addition to the castle itself. A really wonderful wooden fortress. The ticket price is really low considered the things you can see and feel. Being there you can really feel the medieval baltic vibe, see cool weaponry, rooms with manequins dressed as the balts. The castle personally is in my top 10. Would come again. A holiday that happens once a year on April 30th. But, keep in mind that it's hard to find a parking space after 6pm Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
