We were staying at the Bude Camping and Caravan Club site and I could help myself popping to a local Brewery. I purchased 3 Caliburn and I'm not disappointed apart from travelling well to Southampton they taste... Reading the label " A full-bodied, dark, old Ale with a balanced mix of heavily roasted malts with notes of chocolate and dark fruits" Yes, I fully agree with every word. My only disappointment is...why didn't I buy more?? Highly recommended for the dark Ale connoisseurs. Wonderful selection of beers, sampled six a third of a pint at a time. Favourite was Cornwall's Pride, but that's just my opinion - you should try them for yourself. But oh, the food! Positively the best out I've had in many a year. Steak and Ale pie, beautiful pastry and filling, and veg cooked to perfection. Some of my taste buds died and went to heaven😇 They serve a wonderful Sunday carvery. Amazing deserts. There are tables outside and an amazing view of trebarwith. There is plenty of parking outside. This is our third visit and brought youngest daughter and her partner. I booked a table via Facebook and had quick response. We couldn’t see the views as it was so misty. Large choice on the menus . I went for the pork chops which were huge and there comprised of two of them. Nice choice of vegetables to go with it. Only criticism I had was that the potato in the dauphinois could have done with a little more cooking as they were slightly Al dente. The men liked the beers on offer . Would have liked to buy some glasses but the brewery shop was closed as it was after 6 pm. We all liked our choices. My daughter particularly liked her choice of a vegetarian as different to what is on offer elsewhere . My husband had fish pie and he highly recommends it. The staff were so friendly and efficient. Personally I think having the pork chops as either small plate with one chop or regular with two would be good as options for those with smaller appetites. Loved the chips that we had as a side. We also had bowl of kale . My daughter had sticky toffee pudding which was light and delicious. I was too full. Love this place. We will be back as not too far from home Having read and heard about the good reviews we decided to visit the brewery for our evening meal. The place is beautiful with nice welcoming staff. Two of us had the wagu burger and waited with anticipation of a great meal. Unfortunately our burgers were incredibly salty and inedible. The staff straight away offered to change the but we got the feeling we weren't really believed as they'd never had any complaints before. We were not out to cause trouble, we really hoped to enjoy our meals. The other was the steak and ale pie which was nice but not amazing. Such a shame. For anyone looking for a delicious in a relaxed environment, good value for money and great service too. We had the carvery on Sunday which was amazing, great choice of veg and succulent meat. Today we went back for the fish night and we're not disappointed, the choice was massive, a huge range on the fish night options, most around £13-15 where they brought out your main and you helped yourself to chips, bread and butter, mushy peas, curry sauce, gherkins etc The bread was freshly made and superb too. We left absolutely stuffed and very happy. Great menu options, good value and genuinely nice people running it. We can't fault it, highly recommend and can't wait to come again when we're visiting the area next! We had a fantastic tonight, Wagu steak was fantastic. The Wagu burger was delicious, definitely come back again. Sole arrived on my plate alone. I had to get up and fetch veg myself! There were baked beans and chips. Both had been there a long time. Really bad service. Would not recommend. Also Senior Staff are rude. Pity we did not photograph the raw pastry on my friends plate when she lifted the top layer urgh Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
