Dropped in for an ice cream milkshake at £5 and have to say pretty disappointed. Milkshake was warm and somewhat watery. Not sure why but I'm guessing the 2 scoops of ice cream were still in the mixer and not in my milkshake. Nice stop off on the way to St Michael's Mount. Just a couple of minutes walk from beach. two bacon baps lovely cooked bacon on lovely toasted buttered brioche buns. I had a nice black coffee, and we a hot chocolate that's topped with whipped cream and marshmallows. Nice clean cafe with toilets. Very friendly staff and perfectly positioned before that big walk to the mount. Well stocked menu with lots of food and treats. Not very friendly staff, food is tasty, coffee too and a great view Very mediocre food. Overpriced. Dry sandwiches. Kids lunch had rotten fruit. Cheese fries had a small amount of unmelted shredded cheese. Staff passable. Decent atmosphere. Would not come again. This place was busy, serving takeaways only. Fine, we takeaway then waited outside as asked. Staff were all young. 20 minutes later, our simple order of 2 fish+chips had not arrived, so we went back in to ask. Turned out they'd given it to another customer who'd now left. Since all the orders are numbered on the receipts, it's hard to see how this can happen. So we waited all over again. When we got the fish+chips it was pretty good. Suggest you hire more organised front of house staff. We saw the rain coming in before we ventured out towards St. Michaels Mount so we came into this cafe to take shelter. We a few hot drinks and breakfast sarnies. (See pictures attached) Sausages were curly and strange but tasted ok. Views from the cafe are ok, and the place inside was ok. A standard cafe that does the job. Nice cafe with some good coffees. Has a nice view of Michael's mount too. Sadly not was I was expecting when we a portion of chips. For £5 I got what I'd usually receive with a kebab at 2am. You be the judge. Overpriced. We a couple of portions of 'Fish and chips' to take away. After a decent wait, out came some over-fried oven and a small piece of cod. Definitely not worth the price we paid. Over priced, bland food, fish and with mushy peas, didn't even bring the mushy peas, had to ask and waited 5 minutes to be told they had ran out, offered baked beans and waited another 10 minutes before it was brought to us. Staff are slow in many ways. Spontaneous visit for lunch, 3 adults 2 kids. The fish and was excellent, very well presented piece of fish. 4 of us had the ciabatta rolls, the crab was delicious, and the special was mackerel with chilli relish which was perfect. The Cornish cream tea was amazing also, the scone was warm and very tasty. The staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent, would definitely recommend lunch here. Went in to get a takeaway pasty, was given a receipt and told to wait outside for my order which was surprising as there were no other customers waiting and four girls were behind the counter on their phones! The pasty was awful, supposedly locally made which means they are bought in and reheated as required. The pastry was soft and the filling resembled an over baked mush of potato onion and turnip which had no identifiable individual taste. Found one small bit of meat which you couldn't taste as it was covered in the mush of filling. £5:50 - an over priced poor excuse for a pasty.
