These guys know what they're doing! The queue was out the door but we were served quickly by very friendly staff (don't believe otherwise!). Fish was fresh, batter crisp and tasty... really top quality fish n and well worth travelling to. Sooooo good. Great value. Freshly cooked. Lovely owner and staff. Shame I live 300 miles a way I'd be there every weekend!! If you want some absloute banging and cod then this place is worth every penny....dont get it on the beach front as it's ridiculous prices, but here you wouldn't regret it at all! Brilliant find whilst on holiday… were all declared as the best we’ve ever had by our family of four. Lovely and crispy. Was very busy the second time we went, and took a long time to wait, was little frustrating as we literally just wanted and sauce whilst others ahead of us were ordering fish and fritters that needed cooking fresh. One suggestion would be to shout out if anyone is just waiting on chips?? But just a suggestion, still loved the food, reasonable price and would recommend to others. Just had pie and chips! Need a jack hammers to get thru the crust and the insides were as hot has the sun!! Burnt my hand badly!! Must have been in the microwave for ten minutes completely in eatable! Really good local chippy. At first the looked a little pale, but they had a really good flavour and surprising amount of crunch. The portion sizes were good value. The fish was lovely and fresh with fairly light batter. Only downside is the lack of homemade tartare sauce, but minor criticism. Been one of our go to chippys for a lot of years now, cousin jacks used to be the best around but after the last few visits I can sadly say that they are very poor indeed. We called in today for a lunchtime treat only to be served Luke warm rock hard which has been the case for the last few visits so we have decided to call it a day with this place. If a chippy can't get right then it's a sad job really. Go to chippy! I placed a big order yesterday to collect, so plenty of time for them to prepare and the staff did not disappoint! They even labelled the boxes with names on!! Always have absolutely lovely food here and very reasonably priced, enjoy it everytime. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
