Whisky choice is awful and beer isn't much better. No carpark at all, if you are lucky you may get a space out front, if not it's a 6 minute walk to the nearest Publix carpark which is free after 4pm. Checked in at the bar then was shown to my and all info given. My was up a flight of stairs, rooms are only accessible via the bar, no back entrance. The wasn't very spacious, the shower was ok. Lots of old cobwebs around the ceiling corners and light shade. The bedding didn't smell that fresh either nor did it feel it. Wifi ok The shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast included Evening meal was excellent, a really good choice menu and brilliant value. Definitely not worth the price of the £100 I paid for the room. I would want to try a different if I were to stay there again. The location is a short walk to the harbour and is set in the small town of Penryn. Only slept there as collecting daughter from Falmouth University, so I didn't use the bar or food. I felt a bit uneasy the one time I had to go down to the bar to ask for milk as all in the bar turned and stared. The actual duvet and pillows were stained and yellow, so I'm glad I didn't notice until the next morning or I would have slept sitting up.. I have eaten here a few times in the past year. Fair selection of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. There are good offers available on certain days. The food is lovely. Whenever I've gone it's been either a burger, which are all excellent with good portions, or the roast. Make sure you book the roast to avoid missing out (as we did twice) because it is genuinely brilliant with good portions and variety on the plate. There's a reasonable amount of space inside and there's outdoor space too, some with cover. I've marked down one star just because the Mains menu seems a little bit expensive, and the service was a bit abrupt on our last visit. Although it was very busy and looked as though it was one person to run the bar and serve food. A great place to stay, right near the town and an easy drive to the beach. We stayed here to look at the university (Penryn Campus) which was also super close. All of the staff here are lovely, we decided to have dinner and breakfast because the food is quick and delicious. It’s not the easiest place to find, although at the time I stayed the road was closed which complicated things. It has traditional decor and a warm friendly feel. The people could not have been nicer. The I stayed was quite basic but comfortable and reflected the reasonable price. The food is excellent. I would definitely come again. Had a lovely stay here recently. Bedrooms were clean and bed was comfortable; bathroom was spacious. The host was warm and personable and I'd absolutely stay here again and recommend to others.
