Amazing and history. Parking is limited by beach. It also very large NT carpark. We had a guided and it was excellent. One of the best beaches in Cornwall in my view. Sandy, not overly busy and plenty of parking in the NT car park. Lovely sand and sea. Car can get full so get there early. Also be aware the road can get very narrow A really lovely beach. Sand really nice. Would recommend a visit An lovely coastal with amazing views. We parked at the National Trust Carne car park, headed up the hill and through a gate off the road. Some of the path is a little overgrown in places and I did get stung a few times by nettles but it was still an enjoyable walk. It started to rain just as we reached a little village so walked the road way back as the path would be muddy when wet. Great beaches. Shallow warm seas which slope very gently. Carne has great rockpools to the far left. The tide goes out a long way, so the is huge when it's out! The surf is minimal (head to the North coast if that's your thing). There are small car parks at the rear of both beaches with toilets. They are quick to fill up on warm summer days so be early. Carne has a café van in the car selling tea/coffee, snacks, cakes and ice-cream (Thirstea company??) which is great, the proprietor is charming and the cakes and local ice-cream are very very good, not cheap mind. The roads to the are very narrow once past Veryon and can be busy, again be early! We love them, great beaches for kids and adults. Hit and miss but lovely. Nightmare to get to, even as a local... meet a tourist on the approach road and you are stuffed, why can't they use their handbrakes, tuck in properly, know when it is on them to drive through, back up, all of it??? Nightmare. There is a car that is quite steep but functional. Better still for the disabled there is parking practically on the but this is limited and doesn't seem to be regulated to stop nonbluebadgers nabbing a "nicer spot" from those who genuinely need it. Sandy with some stones and shells. Lots of sea weed. Swimming depends on where in the tide cycle it is. Close to the shore there is a good drop and clear patches between the weed so you can get in easy. When it is quite far out it takes a long to get depth and all of it is through a slurry of weed and broken shell, so timing matters. Good for kayaking and oddly for this shore it sometimes has surf too. Nice relaxed that is tucked away. A nice secluded with lovely views of the surrounding area. There's a National Trust car nearby. The road to the car is very steep and narrow, but it's worth the struggle to be able to up and appreciate the views. We did the NT in wet and windy conditions but we enjoyed the walk. Once we got to the little cottage we did the loop backwards Beautiful expansive sandy beaches and really big tides! Amazing gem of a beautiful and sandy and nice crystal clear water toilets in nearby carpark not sure about refreshments though didn't see any but fine if you take your own. Few rock pools and sheltered by the cliffs and greenery think I've found my Ideal happy place Beautiful long sandy beach. Well worth a visit. Plenty of parking, a food truck and toilets.
