We were in Port Isaac when I found out about Enys Gardens. Made the trip to see the fields of bluebells and garlic. Even though it was raining, we were not disappointed. Absolutely beautiful carpets of flowers. The smell of the wild garlic was amazing, even through the rain. We'd love to go back and see the bluebells before they were knocked down from heavy rains. Beautiful, peaceful. Work in progress with woodland walks. Cakes at the café were pretty good too. A really enjoyable afternoon amble. Being an avid gardener I love visiting local and living in Cornwall I'm lucky enough to have so many to choose from. Yesterday's garden was Enys in Penryn Cornwall. If you head towards falmouth going down through Penryn you'll see a small sign for Enys so eyes open. Plenty of parking once you get there and the prices were good too, Adults only £8 and seniors £6 kids £2 and family is only £18. Great value for money. Oh and it's Dog Friendly. Brilliant. The are lovely, it's got a rusty Cornish feel to it, plants of beautiful trees to look at, beautiful tall oaks, monkey puzzles to redwoods even a young 40ft redwood with a wisteria climbing through it. Pictures to follow. Lots of rhododendrons and dicksonias to walk though. Very small coffee shop with plenty of seating but I recommend taking your own lunches. Lots of places to sit and have a sammidge. They do do a coffee cake though. It's a very relaxed atmosphere and perfectly located with a history that dates back to the 1300s. Amazing. Beautiful privately owned at any time of the year.But it is at its most beautiful now and probably for the next week, Enys has the most beautiful bluebell meadows yes l said meadows.There are also more formal and orchard. There is a small cafe offering cakes and light snacks. It’s costs £14-00 per adult, well worth it in my opinion. Bluebells are stunning when in bloom. The large have formal and wild landscapes with a lake and orchards, play area for children under adult supervision. Dog friendly. Weekend events throughout the year, antiques, art, vintage cars, concerts and theatre. Had a fantastic time, such gardens, and very family-friendly. The staff were absolutely wonderful and engaging. place to visit. Well kept with lots of interest. New Zealand Ferns and unusual trees. More relaxed and better than the Eden Project. We visited today (May 6th) to see the bluebells and walk around the grounds. This was our first time at Enys and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The sun shone, the carpets of bluebells were stunning and the walk around the grounds was peaceful, tranquil and just perfect. Bluebells everywhere! Such a lovely, calm and surprising garden, full of exotic flowers and trees. We enjoyed our walk immensely, admiring the incredible work that has been done to release this "lost garden" from brambles etc., just like the more famous cousin in Heligan. We wondered why Enys is so rarely known and hard to find: it is online signposted when you are almost there. It would be worth it to put some more effort in advertising this spot of beauty.
