Starbucks Coffee

One of my favourite stops - pleased it survived the new road layout. Bigger inside than expected , reasonable parking, Esso station opposite. Lots of seating and a cosy annexe area (maybe 2?). The usual fayre you'd expect. Usually very friendly and fast service. No drive thru. Better coffee than the U.S. but otherwise the same except for 2 things. The WiFi through BTopen is horrendous. I can’t even open google maps on it. Compared to Google Starbucks in America where you get like 100mbs for free this place is awful. Secondly the bathroom smells so bad that I was gagging. Worse than a portable toilet. I would be afraid to use the toilet here based on just the smell. Good for a quick stopover and the loos were clean. Only had coffees, croissant and toasted fruit loaf with lurpak butter and jam and everything was fine. Car park has a pretty deep pothole, right on the entrance, to watch out for! I love going here as it is not so busy as other coffee shops. The drinks are good and the food very tasty. Only had filter coffee available due to a fault, that coffee tasted overpowering and burnt. Sad face. Excellent service, great tasty drinks, free WiFi, staff friendly. The toilets do let the place down. Free coffee beans can be collected for your garden. Good capachino £4.20 for Venti Our little holiday secret.. always top notch Absolutely love the Lavender Chai Latte. No cake needed because thus drink is sweet enough. This place needs a refresh. It looked very dirty and tables sticky. Coffee was fine so maybe have a take away The most unwelcoming dirty Starbucks I have ever been in. The toilets were apparently being cleaned, but there was no evidence of any staff doing that, yes I looked in the female and male bathrooms. Therefore only the disabled toilet was available to use. This was dirty. The edges of the floor were filthy, behind the door was grim. The stainless steel toilet roll holder, soap dispenser and air dryer were rusted, very dirty especially underneath. There were very few customers in the restaurant but there were several tables that had not been cleaned, covered in crumbs. The windowsills were obviously dusty, the tiled floor was horribly dirty, I did see a member of staff sweep the floor but it really needs a deep clean, scrubbing the grout and the edges. The staff whilst friendly did not ask what size of drink we wanted, we were given large drinks and so paid for more than we wanted. I don’t think I could ever recommend this branch of a national beverage chain to anyone.
